Woods down had me worried, but looking at it objectively maybe it's a blessing in disguise because it forces McVay & Goff to rely on other wideouts and that could help us further down the road when elite defenses are going to try and take Woods away

McVay was way ahead of us in thinking Watkins should be the 1A receiver.

He knew that the Saints would be thinking the same thing..... so instead he called plays that made Kupp the primary receiver and obviously increased the plays for Reynolds while still having Sammy out there drawing mainly double coverage.

I bet the week that Woods comes back, Watkins will be the primary target.

The re-circulation of nonsense makes me laugh. Wentz in philly wasn’t going thru his progressions last year at all. He’d force his first read, check down or run. Anyone who watches tape will see that plain as day.
Now this year, his 2nd year in the same system, he is more confident and is is better at progressions. It’s him following an nfl learning curve.

Jared seems to be progressing towards his full potential at a faster pace than Carson. The meeting between these two teams, Philly and LA, and two 2nd year QBs should be very revealing.

Yeah he was good today... not great.. but good.

I feel like the dude has potential to be great..
Patience grasshopper.
He is more than doing his part and drawing double coverage which is leaving the other wide receivers more open underneath.

Kupp, Reynolds, Higbee and Gurley were picking up 10 yards a clip and first downs left and right.

I know how exciting it is to see that bomb reception run and catch, excetera, excetera.

But we were running a ball control offense that was eating time off the clock and keeping Drew Brees on the bench.

We just saw the entire game plan executed perfectly.

I've seen enough of Watkins to come to what I believe is a decent conclusion. I don't think Watkins will ever be elite. I think he is a good to very good wide receiver. Maybe a second tier guy, something like a 1B.

Watkins is an incredibly athlete, that is what led him to be drafted so high. He was a world class track athlete and it shows in how he runs. But he plays a little stiff in the hips, and that's going to keep him a notch below the greats. It's no offense to him, there's nothing he can really do about it. This is at least what I am seeing, others may have different opinions.

As for Goff, wow, I'm fairly speechless. He LOOKS like a ten year vet on the field. And remember, his mental clock will speed up even more and more. I think he's already ahead of Wentz.
