I'm guessing we are going to see the Rams right at about the cap every year. We are not going to be like the Khan owned Jags who will likely lead the league every year in roll over cap space and KD will work his magic to keep us right up tight against the cap while having funds to grab 2nd contract FAs when we need them. I have no doubt that Stan has told KD that he has the cap - now spend it wisely but spend it.

I read somewhere today that the rams were the only team in the NFL to not carry over any cap, But I have no idea what that means. or why we would be the only team that didn't. Anybody else know anything about this carry over stuff?

I think that report ignored the carryover from the Finnegan contract. But it was my understanding that the Rams ended the season right up against the cap as they did the year before. I would think that is exactly what you want as a fan base. You hope your picks and FA pick-ups are worth the money too but as far as your COO and ownership is concerned, I think you want them spending what they got.

So far that is the case. Ram's current mgmt team do a good job of spending up to the line and structuring deals that don't borrow from the future.

I suppose it means we spent all that was allowed under the cap.

Demoff is a genius and is severely underrated as a cap manager. We're incredibly lucky to have him.

I don't even think most people understand that magnitude of his genius. He doesn't just spend the cap and manage it without borrowing from future years, he also structures contracts in a way where he can account for unpredictable events like finnegan not working out, Long having his ACL tear, etc. Even if we ever get in a bind, he has contracts like CLongs and Quinn's that can be restructured to allow more cap space in oh shit moments. That is hard to plan out.
