Is it really that hard to think a rookie 5th round pick can't take snaps from a 2nd year 6th round pick? BTW I think I'm the only Clemson fan on the board and have watched more Davis than anybody here and love the kid but the Rams are likely to go with a 5 man rotation again this year with Hamilton taking over for Gallimore and won't affect Davis much at all. Not sure why it's an issue to some.

Maybe DEs Johnson ends up ahead of Hamilton. He played similar number of snaps as Gallimore in the final three games.

Maybe an UDFA who's so far just been depth beats out a guy McSnead and Shula wanted to draft. Maybe but not sure why it's such an issue that Hamilton does something better than most guys in the DL group does. He's excellent at defending the run which is what knocked us out of the playoffs last year. This is a guy they wanted and they grabbed him. You might get used to the idea that he's going to get snaps behind Poona and more than guys not named Ford, Turner and Fiske. Not sure why this is an issue to you that he will get time over the backups and bottom of the roster for the DL group.

Who said it’s an issue? It seems that you are the only one with the issue.

The rest of us are just speculating who gets the most snaps and some agree that a late draft pick isn’t likely to get more snaps than Ford.

But it’s funny that you think there is a huge gap between Des Johnson, who was a 7th round pick (259) and Ty Hamilton who was a 5th round pick (148). Both are day three picks, but one has a full year of NFL experience. I guess by your logic that means Chros Paul has to start over Omar Speights. :eyeroll:

Am I to take it that you feel Hamilton is a superior player to Davis?
More accurate to say I think he is more physical and will jump him in the 0 and 1 techniques for the rotation. DL is not like some other positions. If you have power the shit translates for a run stuffing type role. His issue is he doesn't offer much pass rush, and this class was insanely deep.

Davis might make a big jump but for now that's my projection.
