It's not a weird thing to say at all. I'm simply talking about my views on the matter. I know for a fact there's a few out there crowning the guy as its part of being over ecstatic that he did well. I have zero issues with that at all in fact, that's just not me and that's all I'm talking about. You sound sensitive to a differing opinion which I find weird to say. I talked about how Simpson is on the right track and am interested in seeing if McVay will give him more reps against better competition. Guess glossing over what I actually said is your thing on this one.

Tell me about it, I'm just stating what I saw and trying to remain even keeled regarding what I personally saw because Simpson did great vs players that are fighting for roster spots and are most likely cut. It's a great start for sure but I wanna see that against better competition that better challenges Simpson. I personally think it'll be good for his growth to hopefully have that opportunity sometime in the upcoming scrimmages or preseason games if possible. Glad to see the kid doing well so far.

I guess I haven’t followed everyone’s opinion on him,but have CERTAINLY given MINE !!

—Now that I’ve seen him play,it’s a different story.I came to Training Camp & I laid into him in front of this 14plus year old (HS)freshman where Ty was practicing in the offseason.I talked over 5 minutes of telling him how Stetson is Better than him & he ISN’T going to TAKE that backup roll.I mean I talked Madness.This Young man told me to get his attention & let him know he says HI.You can Image an OldTime Hecklar(Johnny) with a Beer in hand can do & say.I did it just to know Game In !! He has to Earn It!!
Ty Simpson is a GYM RAT.Connor talked about him always being The FIrst 1 at study(building)lifting!! Dude is Young & Raw !! The thing is IS he IS up for The CHALLENGE!!

Do you really think if McVay wanted Cousins he wouldn't show up the next flight? Seriously man. The dude is on record talking about him and their relationship and what he owes McVay. If he were to offer anything in the reasonable range to Cousins it's over. He'd be here.

Same with Jimmy. Looking at the lack of interest around this league you can see what Jimmy was being told some months back by his reps. Which is that there isn't a lot of interest in his services. That is a very likely reason why he chose retirement. Not because he somehow thought he is a starter in spite of the empirical evidence on the field and team indifference.

All this shit ends up being twisted to favor athlete egos. Teams show them that respect, and both sides playing nice keeps the nasty shit off the media radar. So you gotta look between the lines on this stuff I think.

Ty Simpson from what I heard from his Interview was CONFIDENCE!!

He is a KOOL young Man !! GOD BLESS The RAMS !! From his Draft Day to NOW !! Is Pretty KOOL !! My Friend who was with ME & maybe even my GF will appreciate The Ty SIMPSON EXPERIENCE!!

3. Add TY SIMPSON real FATHER being at The GAME ! & a coach who paid another coach to be there.

He opened the door to TY being the backup.Which to me was a first,but Stetson is still in that seat.

My WHOLE thing was Sean Mcvay on The Sideline,he was JACKED UP.

The first pass he got excited,then The 2nd pass he got Real Excited.Going into Circles.

Nate is going to be a Great OC(HC).
He really reads Defenses & Mcvay has a lot of Trust in him already.

Kirk Cousins signed a one year, $11.3 million contract with the Raiders. The contract is fully guaranteed. Cousins received a fully guaranteed $1.3 million salary in 2026 and will receive a $10 million roster bonus in 2027 that is also fully guaranteed. The 2027 through 2029 seasons are effectively void years as they carry $80 million in full guarantees if Cousins is on the roster on the 5th day of the 2027 league year which should ensure his release. The structure of the contract is designed to be a work around for his offsets on his prior guaranteed salary earned by the Falcons for 2026.

I'm pretty sure even if Cousins loved McVay, his agents would advise him to sign that deal with Las Vegas. He's effectively getting 11.3 mil to begin camp as the starter and even if Mendoza got the job before week 1, 11.3 mil is a nice chunk of change to watch from the sidelines. He knows he's going to be a UFA in 2027. If the Rams offered him 12 mil (of the 15 mil they have in cap space) he might have still signed with the Raiders because that chance of being the starter.

If we go down the list of #2 QBs around the league, Bennett is one of the lease expensive. Hell, Tre Lance makes more. Having said that, the interest in Garoppolo is low because of the affordability of the other #2's. But as soon as somebody goes down, I'd bet JG's phone will be ringing. If Bennett doesn't look good in joint practices or preseason, and there are no injuries prior to week 2, JG could be back in L.A.

But I digress. I take no pleasure in berating Cousins. I like our situation under center, now and in the future.

Also players have representatives who talk all the time with teams and know when the interest is hot or perhaps luke warm. And when a cheap backup QB gets passed on by the league that makes me think that interest was cold.

Maybe you're right but I keep thinking maybe JimmyG want to play for the McVay Rams or nobody and has a handshake deal to come back if they need him.

I actually don't think it is.

And it may not be that black or white.. but it might be Jimmy sitting back.. not wanting anything to do with camp.. and just waiting for the call, if needed. Simply a.. "shit, why not?" type-thing where he just wouldn't want to learn another team and offense at this point.

Who's berating Cousins. It's not berating him to observe what he is. There is no reason to be sensitive about that either, unless you're related to him or something.

He was in fact bad enough to be benched in favor of a rookie QB in Atlanta. His last two stops have not been good in terms of his potency as a QB1. And now he's in a situation in Vegas where he might get beaten out by a rookie QB.

The Jets already have a starter who requires a run game, and they have a rook who was sharp in their preseason opener. Arizona has a rook who has been killing it, who would probably start over Cousins as well. I don't think Beck will sustain that level of play mind you, but the alternative is starting Cousins which is not ideal. Maybe Cleveland could use his services I suppose. But they're going to lose regardless lol.
