The Rams trading for Crosby would convince me that McVay is leaving when Stafford leaves as has been rumored.

Cardinals cut a starting LB
Akeem Davis-Gaither

"Davis-Gaither played in all 17 games for the Cardinals last season, starting 13 and totaling 117 tackles. He had an interception, a forced fumble, two tackles for loss and five pass breakups. He arrived as a free agent before the season, with the Cardinals hoping he could be another linebacker success story transforming from part-time play to full-time as Mack Wilson Sr. had done in 2024."

Couls.be an upgrade over speights or Reeder
IMO Dolac is an upgrade over Reeder.

Not that I'm advocating for him at all but since he's obviously being discussed, I just watched Crosby's 2025 highlights and fuck is he a beast. I knew he was good but I honestly wouldn't be super upset to add this guy if the FO feels justified. Super elite at cutting in-between blocks to disrupt plays ASAP. I'm more of the camp of lets keep our picks but boy does he really pop on some of these highlights

He's a hell of a player. But everyone looks their best in highlights.

That's not saying much.

Reeder is terrible as a LB but is okay as a special team player.

Probably our best special team player last year but that says a lot about how poor our special teams were last year.

Edit - I really want to give myself an ouch for this.

Yeah that chatter is definitely out there right now. I always thought this was a possibility but had started to change my mind last summer.

2 things that have always been in the back of my mind:

McVay’s grandfather working with Bill Walsh during the Niners dynasty in the 80s and Bill Walsh’s personal philosophy was that a coach should never coach the same team for longer than 10-12 years.

And secondly, I lowkey think McVay wants to run the whole operation somewhere eventually. Head coach, team president, everything…à la Mike Holmgren, Bill Belichick, etc. And he knows that won’t happen in LA. Snead isn’t going anywhere. I think sometime in the next 1-3 years he will “retire”, take a year or two off, make $30M+ doing television, and then take a new gig where he gets to call all the shots.

What does the chatter make of his recent signing to a multi year extension?
