Rams maybe not feelin a 1st Round WR. Wow, first I'm hearing of this, just mocked us Lemon this morning, LOL.

Todd McShay 20 reports ahead of NFL Draft: Rams out on 1st round WR’s? | Turf Show Times https://share.google/jNrrxjKu8OvJFdX6o
You do realize some of these teams are possibly bullshitting McShay right? We are guessing, me included. I'm just hoping we get Tyson but who the heck really knows what the Rams are thinking. Besides, things can change pretty quickly depending on how the board breaks down as other teams make picks or trades. I'm ready for the draft to happen so I can complain or celebrate (knee jerk reaction) and then move on.

Anything is possible, just wondering that if the Rams do take Simpson somewhere in the 1st if the "Simpson 4th and 6th Rounders" on here are gonna call McVay out on it.

I keep saying this, but the problem with Tate is that he's not your typical high pick wideout. Usually those guys check all the boxes, from being the number one in college to logging in that big freak range for their workout. The problem with this wideout group is that dude isn't in it. I don't have a problem with them moving up a little for him, however he's not good enough to draw that next year top pick so it would have to be a small jump up.

Styles meanwhile... I think checks all the boxes at the mike role. He fills hard vs the run, he can stack and shed, he's durable, he's a top athlete for the position, and he has anticipation to ensure his speed isn't wasted. Good drops on pass downs. Straight up four down backer who will anchor a defense for years at a high level. So that's why I think he's the dude for us in this draft up top. Because so many of those big safety conversion projects are typically chase or 4-3 WILL types at best. Styles is the one who converted and thrived in the role. He's gonna be a stud in the NFL. I think he's an extremely safe pick and a need.

But if we move up for him and suffer major injuries, watching another team sit on our pick in that QB draft is going to suck ass. I simply would not take that chance. It is tempting though, for him.

Theineman would play deep middle. Day one. He's got shit we haven't seen at safety in a long damn time. Meaning the ability to range sideline to sideline with ball awareness and anticipation.

As safeties go the box types are a dime a dozen. The deep middle studs are rare though and he might be one of them.

Everyone is all over Downs' nuts in this draft, and I think he's going to be a stud in the NFL, but I expect he's going to do a lot of box work and that is simply not as valuable as ballhawking on the back end. Can he do that? Probably. But there's a reasonable chance Theineman ends up the best safety from this class and it is a need for the Rams.

We do not have a true free ranging ballhawk on this roster. Our safeties are not bad, but we don't have that dude.
Theineman & McNeil Warren are both tempting if they trade back. Either one would add a playmaker to the back 7. They differ some from each other, but both would add a presence to the back end.

Man…all this Styles love on the bird lately. I just don’t see it. I see a bust waiting to happen. He plays with no aggression. His tape is littered with RBs running through him (and him still bringing them down). He’s constantly going high on tackles, which will not work in the NFL. He’s constantly seems like he’d rather drag a runner down from the back or side then meet them heads up. Yes he’s a a freak athlete, but if I’m taking a MLB that high, I want me a Ray Lewis, Luke Kuechly type. Someone that defenses fear. That’s not Styles at all. He still looks like a safety playing linebacker.
Don't disagree. I wouldn't just play him at off ball LB myself. I'd mix in some edge plays. But I also would not trade up for him. There is only 1 blue chip talent I would have any thought of trading up for, Love. Even then, He'd have to drop quite a bit for me.

Theineman I'd get somewhat. I would not really get McNeil Warren. We have those types on the team already. Just resigned one.

Interesting, I couldn't find the Breer piece or quote this was based on...

I don't doubt it cause every year they makes calls to go up but still looking for confirmation.
I got this from tst. I didn't look for the quote yet. I'll try to see if I can find it.
