This is why I think Fano is certainly in the discussion if he is there at 13. IMO, he can legitimately play anywhere on the line. He has played both RT/LT, would be good at any of the inside slots. Not sure if I'd make the call for him at 13, but, I'm fairly certain he is in the discussion.
Fano may be a dude the zone teams prefer. I think for the Rams if you're looking guard then Ioane or Mauigoa is better. And Mauigoa may be able to play RT. So if the Rams plan to let McClendon walk in FA, then he makes a lot of sense.

If the Rams aren't worried about arm length then they have a ton of nice options, one of which should get to them. And OT would be likely since it's a need at swing OT and futures.

But I think the short arms are a problem. So I expect that pushes Freeling up the board. Maybe Miller and Proctor go a bit earlier due to that as well.

NFL Trade Rumors, Final Cornerback Rankings,
(McCoy over Delane)

If we get one of these guys at 13 it could really be lockdown city. Of course we DO need a Wide Receiver more than anything but there's more than one way to skin a cat.

What do you think about this tackle class? It's been hard to get a general consensus.
I think there are 3 or 4 very very good RT but others don't like the arm length yet they're both exceptional RTs. Freeling has issues and a lack of experience also he has played LT but there are more pundits that think he's a RT than a LT. Lomu I think has it in him to be a good LT not great but good.

Then I think there are 4 or 5 that can be starters in day 2 but again have questions.

I have a good feeling about Freeling.

I think Styles has a lot of style.

No chance that Lemon will be a lemon.

Yeah, it's really hard to find a "clean" OT prospect this year. The arm length thing is a bit overblown. People forget that Sewell had 33-inch arms. Mauigoa is the only guy I really like in the first, personally.

Snead never does what you think he might so no idea where we're going with the 13th pick. The WR class seems pretty deep and Snead and McVay are good at finding players in the middle rounds, which we don't really have this year. No 4th or 5th pick. Also to note is we don't really seem to need a high volume of rookie players with a good core of veterans already in place on both sides of the ball. We may try and trade down in the 1st round to acquire more picks, then try and trade up in later rounds for players we like.

I’d be ecstatic if Rams traded down and got WR OCooper and another defensive piece in R2 (eg. DPonds, KScott, JRodriguez).

The problem is it's a negative flag, where the player is going to be an outlier if he succeeds on the edge in the NFL. Maybe they can overcome it. But you won't know until they start in the NFL and you see the trend.

I'll say this... Most difficult thing for OTs to adjust to in the NFL is power. And Mauigoa I don't think will have any issues with that. But then neither will Proctor. So this shit isn't a perfect science, teams have to gamble where they think it's smart to do so.

I like how this one fell...

Ha...I've been looking at this same scenario for the first two picks for a while now. Trade back to 21 with the Steelers, land Cooper, Jr. and then go get Rodriguez. This would seem to fill the final holes, except special teams, to go get'em next season!
