If this is true for McShay then it suggests he's got 12 1st round grades and there's a shot that at least one of them will be there for us.

Do we take one of the tackles? Will we get some interesting trade opportunities coming on the edge of what some teams might see as a top 12 (some analysts have it as few as 7)?

If I'm choosing from that Tier 2 list above, I'm more than happy to trade down and take what's remaining of that group, no one player there makes me go "I gotta take them at 13."

If these tiers are accurate, the best move may be to trade up for a player they love in the Tier 1B category. If they wait, they probably don't get a blue chip player because even if one of the 12 fall, they have to be a scheme and positional fit.

I think Love will last to 6 or 7, so the Rams could go get him without giving up next year's capital. I think his value to the Rams would be very dynamic and like Stafford he could really gloss over the team's weaknesses. Other teams Defenses would be tying themselves in knots trying to stop our weapons, with Stafford at the wheel.
And in the future, even a Jimmy G could drive that team to the SB.

On top of that, the Rams D is going to dominate with the new DB room and double digit leads.

Nah. We had the #1 offense. We’re fine. Kyren can take over a game when the pass game struggles.

But yeah seriously…

I'm not so sure if the Rams are done adding to the DB room. Outside those top 2, we really don't have much. Before anyone says Forbes, he's on his last year with us. The Rams tend to address these areas one year ahead of time although that guarantees nothing else this year. However with how up and down Forbes could be plus protecting ourselves against inury, I can see the Rams taking another DB high depending upon how the board falls. I know I'm a big supporter of Tyson but there are so many routes the Rams can take and anyone in the media guessing really knows jack shit as the Rams are the best in the biz at keeping everything close to the vest. Can't wait for draft night to get here.

This guy Love is starting to give me serious Marshall Faulk-Ladainian Tomlinson-Adrian Peterson vibes......

Been calling it since mid season. Him in this offense is 2017 Todd Gurley. Worth the trade up, IMO. I’d give up next year capital for him, but that’s just me. I understand why people don’t want to, but our first next year is in the 32 range anyway….so send it

From that perspective you make a good point. I would say that type of rationale brings us back again to WR as well.
It certainly does, however, we are in more peril if AJ goes down with the current roster we have IMO. That could easily lead to 9 getting injured and then we are finished (remember how awful Humphries was in all aspects of the game when he had to play?). A 2nd round WR would still make a great 3rd WR with a lot of potential. Not sure the OT class is deep enough to provide that with our 2nd pick. Again, I wouldn't be thrilled by it, but it would absolutely make sense.
Why?
Just curious. If you like him and you know he probably won’t make it out of the 1rst round, let alone be there at #61, why is this a bad pick at #13. Sure, we’d all love to trade down, grab a couple more picks…and THEN get a guy we have heard is not a top ten player.
…but sometimes those guys are wrong.
I personally don't see Boston as a top half of the 1st round prospect and would not shed a tear if someone grabbed him before our trade down slot. I like him, don't love him. Had he actually manned the fuck up and ran drills at combine or pro day, I'd likely feel better about him. He might be hiding behind a 4.7 now. Plenty of bottom half of the 1st or 2nd round WR's that I have pretty closely ranked to him. Bernard would not be awful and he's a 2nd rounder by all accounts.

I've seen that the comp to move up this year is not as ludicrous as in previous years due to the lack of major talents at the top. I also don't see how Corum would not be worth a 3rd in this draft, considering the utter lack of talent at RB in this draft. Thus a trade up staring with 13 and Corum should get the ball at least rolling IMO. If it doesn't and they are requiring capital from next season, you move on with the trade up thought. We can and are favored to win the Superbowl with the backs we have.

I'm right there with ya, Hitstick.

Someone posted the Breer piece yesterday. Just reiterating that picks 3 thru 7 are looking to trade down. Love, anyone......?

Sounds like they could be willing to take a discount. That is the only scenario I'd be ok with.

It would be interesting to know how the Rams feel about Forbes. Do they still feel he has unlocked potential? Do they have confidence he can become more consistent?

If they do, they could exercise his 5th year option for approx $11m and have his services for two more years.

#6 (1600 points) for #13, #61, and #93 (1570) is nearly even on the trade chart.

No 2027 draft capital needed, but we're essentially using our 2026 draft on one player.

If Love is there, Anyone say yes?

I might say yes , but rather than those other two draft picks I'm thinking either Kyren Williams or Blake Corum has to be in the deal instead.

I doubt either KW or Corum are worth a 3rd. My guess is their value is a 4th at the highest.

Also, the trading team might not want or need a RB, and even if they did want a RB, ours may not fit their scheme. If they get a draft pick, they can use it on whoever they want.

Okay, but we would still have to deal one of these running backs to a different team and maybe send the draft Capital over. Blake Corum is not a RB3, and Kyren is not a RB2. And i DO think we fetch a 3rd for one of these 2.
