They keep saying no pocket passers in the next 5 or 10 yrs yet all 4 QBs in this years title games were pure pocket passers. Sure Maye & Nix can run, but still passers first. Guy's like Green rarely work out. Seems more athlete than passer.
Yup. The 40 time and jumping high are impressive. Would help the team when playing some pickup basketball games. But can the QB throw, is he accurate, can he process quickly, can he make adjustments, can he run an offense, etc.

So many good WRs and CBs, that they can get those at pick 29 and in rd 2 & 3. So I am really looking for something special at 13. So who could that be? Is it even taking a guy after a trade down and you bring in a freak S like McNeil-Warren or Theineman? Is their an edge that falls? Or a small trade back for a top DT? Those positions are not as deep and a bigger fall off later in the draft.
Right now. I’m leaning towards using that R1.13 to get a stud. Including moving up to get them. Maybe target Caleb Downs or Sonny Styles. Once one of them is picked then wheel and deal to get the other at R1.9 - R1.12.

I'm tellin' ya. He's very exciting to watch. Saw it firsthand for 3 years.

Fast as heck. Outruns DB's on long runs, can make occasional eyebrow raising throws, and occasional cringeworthy picks. If he can get up to NFL processing speed, (Easier said than done) he is the reincarnation of Randall Cunningham.

Not my kind of quarterback, but it is the future, for sure. Not sure there will be many pocket passers left in 5-10 years.
Haven't they been saying that about pocket passers for years though? I don't believe they'll ever go away.

Interesting that Zavion Thomas and his 4.28/40 is also a good return specialist.
Yep. He was one I took note of. He's not tiny either (5'10" 190). Might kill two birds with one stone (speedster and return specialist). Though, he didn't have many long catches in his career.

Quick question: What are the pads that all the players have on their trapezius muscles at the combine?

I hope you’re right. I would hate to see the NFL turn into street ball.
I think QBs have to turn into pocket passers no matter what because the league just keeps bringing in youngings that can also fly. Add in the fact that QBs can definitely stick around a lot longer than most positions because being a runner is well on the back burner vs being a competent passer and knowing how to simply move within the pocket. The scrambling ability is just a bonus if they QB has it.

Lake, McCullough, and Wallace are all capable safeties.

I also think Curl is going to be overpaid. He's a good safety but no where near elite
But what if we upgrade from capable to potentially great. Thieneman is becoming my this year's draft crush. Just looks like a complete safety who can also fly. He would look real good in Horns patrolling the back half.

I guess so.
But it's tough to argue that our secondary wouldn't be vastly improved with him in our defensive backfield.
He's always around the play and / or the ball it seems, like Cooper Dejean.
Maybe. Or he could be an absolute bust. You never know with drafted players
