Ya know, I am OK with your rankings. As I went through the list I was like, yep... Yep... Yep... Makes sense.... Yep...and so on.

As much as I think that the future is bright in Ferguson (assuming he decides to run block), I don`t think his grade can be above Higbee or Davis Allen or even Parkinson.

And Byron Young`s grade is way too high. Yes, he has 8 sacks but a lot of that is spill. He is also being helped out with the rotation of the rookie.

And Fiske and Turner having the same grade is suspect.

Otherwise the grades are reasonable, albeit more favorable that what I imagine PFF`s to be.

Tutu>Whittington>Mumfield.

Whittington leaves meat on the bone on those screen plays, and he’s had some drops.

Tutu isn’t targeted as much but he probably has the second best hands on the team behind Puka. Tutu’s ability to draw pass interference penalties needs to be taken into consideration. He’s a big reason we beat the Colts and almost beat the Niners.

Really like what I am seeing from Warren McClendon. Rating higher then Havenstein and thus ensuring Big Rob can be 100% when coming back. Although they could stick with McClendon as he is the future and the future is now.
There are so many great things going on with this team it might get lost what a huge effing development this is.

Shelton's score is a little high. I would put him in the mid to low 60s.

Reeder's is definitely high except for when he is on teams. He has been a good special teamer but he can't make up for how poor our punt return defense is. They are terrible for the most part.

I like what I am seeing from Mump. And I think he's going to pressure that depth chart above him, in fact it's probably happening now. Problem with him is he's another 4.6 (TE speed) dude who doesn't have the speed you need outside that hash, but doesn't have the size and power after the catch that Kupp and Nacua brought. Whereas Tutu has that extra gear, just feels like Stafford can't see him when he's open and in the rest of the snaps he's almost invisible.

McVay has been trending towards more TE usage though and that has benefitted the run game and overall balance in the offense. But it feels like he has been auditioning guys for that third weapon role and that can cause some of the inconsistencies we've seen in the pass game. So expectation is that gets sorted during this midseason stretch, basically I figure they'll come out of the bye with roles defined a bit more in the offense to help the team focus in for the December stretch like McVay teams usually do.

I actually enjoyed seeing Parkinson contribute a bit early in that game. He had a TD that got called back, on what was a rare screen for good yardage. And I would say that if there is anything this offense sucks at, it's screens and their usage. Seems like they get sniffed out more often than not, and there's always defenders present where you don't want them. Not sure what the problem is with them. I mean maybe it's my perception idk but the last time I noticed a good screen was probably when Jimmy was in that one start. So my assumption is the issue is Stafford, either he has a tell of some sort or just sucks ass at executing them.

But Stafford is playing so well that it feels like we need to tune up the pass game around him. OL has not been good, as per usual early in a McVay season, but last game they started to look like they were playing on one sheet of music. Shelton is still weak as fuck, but between Avila and Dotson doesn't seem to be as much an issue. So if the line is coming together now, and Stafford's been sharp as hell even without them, it seems like solving that third weapon role would be very beneficial. I am hoping it is Ferg who emerges, but what matters is someone emerges, don't really care who it is.

Also on the defensive side I am very happy with what I've seen of late of Williams. He has covered well and actually been aware of the ball and playing it, which was badly needed. So if Spoon returns in the good form he was showing from that late season stretch on, and Williams keeps this up, our defense will be very tough.

We still could use a corner in trade. But it will be a big deal for us if Williams can continue playing how he has been.

All great stuff.

The one exception I see in the screen game is Puka.

I think Mumpfield has a little more juice than that… and he really seems explosive on cuts. I think he’s gonna have a solid career.

Agreed. None of the TEs have been bad. Parkinson is given the lowest grade on the team at 67, but there are several players that I feel should be ranked lower than him. Shelton, Ferguson, Reeder, Nick Hampton.

Ferg has been used so little overall that a 70 grade makes the most sense for him. I'd rate Parkinson right around Higbee at 73.
And Byron Young`s grade is way too high. Yes, he has 8 sacks but a lot of that is spill. He is also being helped out with the rotation of the rookie.
Disagree. He's probably been the best defender and his 9 sacks aren't just the cleanup variety - he's been disruptive and generating pressure on his own. If Verse is a 95, then 94 is fair for BY. I'd lower them both to 90 each and bump Landman up to an 89.
And Fiske and Turner having the same grade is suspect.
100%. Fiske has had the one good Gane against Jax. I'd leave Turner at 80 and bump Fiske down to a 76.

Not seeing it with Fiske. He's getting nullified by single blockers. Though admittedly I have not been reviewing games. So just off a basic watchthrough he has looked positively JAG-like.

Fiske has been very disruptive. On the very 1st play of the game he is the one that flushed Lawrence to Verse, for example.
