Why not a full season? I don't believe Ramsey has been missing time.
Because I believe he’s getting to that point where he might not be as good over a full season as he would if he came in late and balled out for a stretch run.

I’m not saying he should sit out out or anything like that. I’m saying a late season trade for a shot at a ring could invigorate him.

I haven’t seen obj or miller do anything since they left and they weren’t doing much just before they came to the Rams in ‘21.
…but they played their best ball in some time, didn’t they?
They got a ring for it.

That could be true but we’ve heard players that came to the Rams talk about how invigorating and motivating the coaches, team and culture is. Davante just spoke about it last month. Maybe it has more to do with that than anything. I could see Ramsey being dissatisfied in Pittsburgh after a few months.

This sentence here might be a great reason why OBJ and Miller aren't good Ramsey comps.

Ramsey did much better last year than their levels before coming to the Rams. I don't recall either one being rated top 15 for their position at the time of trade.

That said, given his age, I get the concern. The fact he has no guaranteed money on his contract after 2025 is one of the main reasons I wanted the Rams to pursue him. If he does fall off suddenly the team can move on with negative repercussions.

Let me preface this by saying, “I would NOT want to see this happen”, but they should have made a play for Higbee.
No way you can convince me today that the move for waller was a better idea than just trading, say, a 5th for Higbee.
Who knows who else Miami checked in on. Downgrading a 6th to a 7th isnt much really. I also couldnt see the Rams entertaining a trade of Higbee at this point. As been said by others, rookie TE's dont get a lot of playing time in McVay's Ram-world

If the Rams are moving a tight end, I'm pretty sure it would be Parkinson.

Pretty sure there wouldnt be many takers, 5+ mill in guaranteed salary for a JAG. Considering the cap hit Miami will endure for not having Ramsey on the team, they arent likely to spend what space they have that haphazardly
Will be interesting to see what they pay Waller (likely proving me wrong of course lol)

I don't disagree with your logic. :)

Just saying that the Rams would be more likely to move (or even release) Parkinson over Higbee. I think McVay is pretty pumped to try Higbee and Ferguson together this year.

To come back to the idea of Higbee being traded to Dolphins (before they went with Waller), I think getting rid of Higbee this year at all would be a mistake. He's our Y TE and it just feels like there's rumblings that Ferguson will be focused on F/move-TE. I think his best utilization is probably there at least for his first year, I don't see him having a ton of success if we had to throw him into Y right away - I think he's got a possible future there though.

Agreed -- Ferg & Higgs will be deadly in combo. Puka - Ferg - Higgs - Adams + RB is a real tough line-up, especially a RZ package w/ KW.

I think we should get Ferguson signed to a contract before we talk about where he's gonna play...
That said, I dont see him playing with a hand in the dirt, they surely didnt draft him for his blocking prowess

Do you think there's a chance he won't sign?

Maybe 3%? What do you think the hold up will be?

Exactly right. It's that second round guarantee battle. There is no way owners can allow that to become a precedent. And the agents saw the nose under the camels tent, and are not backing down either.

Stupid Browns. :crap:

Oh interesting, did not realize our class signed but he didn't... oh interesting, looks like Texas and Cleveland screwed the league with those guaranteed deals.
I think we guaranteed Avila's rookie contract for the 1st 3 years so what Texas and Cleveland did doesn't seem so bad, especially since it comes 2 years later
