The kicking was a fiasco but I don’t recall any game which we lost because of the kicker.
And Matt Gay wasnt much better for the Colts (33/41 FG) than the mess was for the Rams in '23, (32/43 FG)

Well he was pretty good with the Rams. Maybe changing teams didn't pan out. Different coaches, different players, different atmosphere, etc...

Or maybe the Rams knew something we dont know. He's flamed out with 2 teams now and the Rams didnt appear to have any interest.

They don’t pay kickers
They paid Zuerlein, they paid Hekker
They dont pay kickers who peaked apparently, cant argue with their decisions
Like I said, they clearly knew when to walk away from both Z and Gay

Unless they draft a QB, I likely beats out Pickett for the starting job at 40. YIKES

Those things s as pests depend on many factors. Like cap space, future cap space, availability of the position in the upcoming draft, expected contract other teams will offer, etc….

I’m pretty sure Jourdan said they’d like to keep Gay but they expected him to get paid more than the Rams were willing to.

They didn’t make him an offer. They made no effort to sign him. They clearly knew something.
I don’t know how you can’t see that?
It was a great move by the Rams to let him go.

The reports were that they wouldn’t match what he was going to get paid. Just like Shelton.
