Hate them if you choose (I sure do) but they are a quality organization.

Opened-up cap space by restructuring Warner and Kittle.

Replaced Armstead with a good young DL Jordan Elliott, and good veteran DL Maliek Collins.

Agreed on a deal with free agent Eric Kendricks to replace the injured Greenlaw next to Warner but Kendricks bailed and went to Dallas, so the Niners pivoted and signed De'Vondre Campbell.

Signed former-Ram Leonard Floyd to replace Chase Young, and provide an Edge-rusher opposite Bosa.

Re-signed some of their depth players, and lost a few ... including Sam Darnold.

They will not be going-away in 2024, in my opinion.
Thanks for the update! Nothing yet on Brandon Aiyuk, huh? Seems like they've done a lot not having yet resolved what will happen with Aiyuk. Hope they mess it up in the end with him.

And they keep making moves in cap hell. It's pissing me off.

Well, the Niners have the fifth year option on Aiyuk so he's under contract for 2024.

Sure he wants a long-term extension but, if he gets it, that will just lower his current 2024 cap hit.

I wonder what happens there.
Are they trying to lower their cap while extending him?
And.. what's it gonna cost them? I think he probably views himself above Pittman and Ridley.. and, why not? So, how much is that going to be? Can they go to 25 AAV with him? Is that enough to get it done?

I don't know, I think it'd be a real smart move.
Why?
I could have seen the logic of taking a shot with the "Donald Effect", but now with him gone there's no sense in bringing in a guy who hasnt been coachable, takes plays off and was invisible on a team loaded with talent

I never thought 2024 would be a down year for them. I expect them to be one of the top NFC teams. But I do have a feeling they won't be the same team they were in 2022 and 2023. They're gonna have a battle within their own division with the Rams. If Detroit improves their defense they might be the top seed. Dallas will be tough in the regular season as usual. But not so much in the playoffs.

What I'm seeing in the 49ers is a league best starting roster. But the depth will be razor thin. Injuries could derail everything with them. Kittle is in his 30's now. Deebo doesn't look like the same guy he was in 2021. McCaffrey is a heavily used RB approaching the age where they start to decline from the pounding they take. Bosa went from 17.5 sacks to 10 after he signed a mega deal. The window is still open but dangling precariously on a string. It could shut very hard in 2025. If they don't win it all this year I don't see happening any time soon.

Tre White meeting with our Rams. Well worth the gamble I think

It's a shame he's only been able to play 10 games the past couple of seasons. Things were going so well.

Hard to imagine he has much left. Isn't he coming back from an ACL and has had an Achilles recently or vice versa. Was a great CB maybe he'd be a good mentor for young guys.

I say kick the tires big time. I know he has an injury history but guys with these types of question marks are the only ones available. As long as he signs a low risk, high reward contract, I'll be pumped about this addition. Good vet who may also help our youngsters out too.

Yep. Witherspoon's price must not have dropped enough yet.

That's what I was thinking. Mentor. But also our scheme is very conservative for corners so that could play a part.

He was still a damn good CB when he played last year. But then he blew an Achilles, so it is an open question. If he stays healthy, I think he can still be a quality guy.
