Interesting note from
Peter King this Moring:
I think the best news for the Rams in free agency is this: If a team wants to pay Joe Noteboom $12 million or so to be a starting tackle, Los Angeles has faith in last year’s undrafted free-agent find Alaric Jackson to give him a legit shot at winning the left tackle job in training camp. That’s assuming, as expected, that Andrew Whitworth, 40, retires this spring.
Seems like Boom's contract ended up in that range or better, at $47M over three seasons. Now we'll see what he can do with the job and they have Jackson in the wings if Boom can't live up to it.
I die a little inside anytime one of our free agents go to the cheater or the whiners.

Me too. But Williams was pretty bad at times last year. Extremely inconsistent, guys blowing by him in coverage. I don't care where he goes tbh he's not a difference maker. If he was he would have played better in a contract season.

damn didn’t expect this at all when he left here fully expected him to be worth it
Every year you see tons of guys being cast off who were overpaid. It's usually the marginal starters who were overpaid to bring them in or keep them in FA.
I guess if they hadn’t signed Joe than that would have been a big vote of confidence for AJ.
It seems like they do have a lot of faith in AJ. I don't think they'll hesitate to start him if Boom falters so that is quite valuable. And if Boom holds onto the job and performs then Jackson can be worked in at LG to keep his feet oriented that way.
So for now I'm thinking...
LT: Boom
LG: Jackson
C: Shelton
RG: Edwards
RT: Havenstein
Rams have room to mess around with the OGs and hope that competition fixes their interior probs. Not what I was hoping for but what else is new with the OL. Now they just need to bring in more fresh blood in the draft at the very least.
