Granted, I just don't remember any good plays he's made and with him on the bench against the Raiders the Secondary was much better. IMO, Kendrick cost the Rams the game against Tampa and just does not seem to break up any plays when they are throwing against him, but again I have to remember he's a rookie, however, I like Durant and would even give Shaun Jolly a chance before Kendrick IMHO.
Sorry but that's on you. He's had some rough games, as do almost all rookies. I'm not saying he won't get waived or replaced next year. But here this season? Can't see it.

He was released prior to his second year because he was working through injuries. The Rams wanted him on their PS or IR to work through those injuries. The Jets however claimed him off waivers and ended up putting him on their IR due to those injuries he was working through on the Rams in camp. He never played his second season.
I know.

Like I said, I was here. Following the Jets (and Giants) every day with the annoying NY sports media.

Franklin-Myers was picked-up off waivers right after the final cuts. About a month later went on IR. Did not suit-up in 2019.

The Rams could have just put Franklin-Myers on IR. By releasing him, they exposed him to waivers; and even if he cleared waivers (which I think was unlikely) and made it to the Practice Squad, he would have been susceptible to being signed by any other team.
I know you know all this ... you're one of the better posters on the Forum.

We only really disagree on two points. One was the Rams' reasons for cutting Franklin-Myers. Unlike you, I don't know their reasoning. You seem pretty certain.
Who are you!?! ... OldNotDead!?! ... that was joke (and a funny one).

I think where we really part company here ... And Just Here ... is how we view John Franklin-Myers play for the Jets from 2020-2022. I think he is really good; although, he has had some terrible and dopey roughing/late-hit penalties at critical moments.

I think he’s a decent player, he’s the type of guy every team needs. I’m not sure he’s worth that contract that’s something I defer to people who actually watch him all the time. I’m also not sure with the Rams roster building style we even give him that contract. I have nothing against JFM not sure where you started thinking I do. Unless you‘re telling me he’s a great player that the Rams really miss then we just disagree with his potential impact on the team which is perfectly fine to do.

Agreed. That is not roughing the passer.

it is according to the rule book.

you can't land on the qb with your full body weight.

AD used to sack qbs like this all the time but as soon as the new rule came in he changed his technique and fell to the side. i don't think he's ever been flagged for roughing the passer like that since then.

,,, I have nothing against JFM not sure where you started thinking I do.
If you go back to my first comment from earlier today on this thread (prior page), I mentioned Franklin-Myers as an example in support of your comment on how it’s not wise to give-up on a rookie too quickly. You and another poster were discussing Kendrick.

I was agreeing with you because I thought we were BFFs.

Your response to me was that Franklin-Myers was 'decent'; and losing him was 'not really a mistake'.

That's when I realized that we are mortal enemies, and one of us must be destroyed.

I'm hoping it's you. The wife and I have theatre tickets for this weekend.

Honestly I was more confused than anything because the original comment was about cutting a guy during his rookie season. Which we didn't do in JFM's case so I got a bit off track. Forgive me!

I can't find any references to an injury for JFM before he signed with the Jets. I did find this article where McVay just talks about being outplayed by others in practice, but doesn't mention injuries at all. Does anyone have info on what those injuries were?

The league might as well put red jerseys on QB's, make them completely untouchable and be done with it. Its where the NFL is headed anyway.

With Veteran Journeymen Skura & Aboushi starting since Shelton is back @ Center again......Big-body Brewer would be a welcome sight to this interior OL @ either OG post.

In Brewer's 2 starts, I was surprised by how well he settled in & played. Having been groomed in McVay's offense since 2019 he could be a valuable reserve in 2023 for both OG positions & an emergency RT. Rams could offer Brewer a Coleman Shelton-type low cost contract for 2 seasons.

Seems both Brewer & Aboushi perform best at RG, ... Skura is likely best suited at Center, although he hasn't had many opportunities outside of LG, and that's kind of a shame. Perhaps Brewer will replace Skura at LG soon or Shelton moves to LG & Skura goes to Center ?
PFF gave Skura poor grades at LG last week (55.8) & Shelton was miserable (43.8) replacing Allen at Center against Green Bay. Aboushi (75.5) & Nsekhe (74.9) led the OL with Havenstein (62.7) falling somewhere in the middle.
