Agreed. Every time a pass defender grabs the jersey he is taking a chance of getting called for holding. Bradberry felt he could be beat, took a chance/grabbed, and hoped they would not see. Once they saw it - it should be called. End of case. Also the Eagles/Bradberry would have been better off giving up a TD on that play.
That was 3rd down and mid to long so KC would have had to kick a FG. There was still 1:30ish left on the clock. You definitely did not want to give up the TD at that time

That's a great point. Maybe coaches should coach their players to play clean in that type of situation and not risk losing any meaningful chance to have a reasonable chance to answer.

I guarantee that the refs do not call a grabbed jersey every time they see it. My point all along is that there is grabbing all game long, but it is called only when it is either egregious or whenever a ref wants to make a point. The fact that the player who got called said, yep I grabbed him still doesn't answer this one basic question...how often during the game did you grab him? If we had Isolated camera's on every corner on every play, how many would we count? More than is called that is for sure. Now here is the real question...why do some get called and others don't....if you think it's because it only happens when it gets called, you are watching a different game than I am. Every game has it's subjectivity calls, which puts a tremendous amount of power behind the person who chooses to blow the whistle and what time he chooses to blow the whistle. Why was the whistle not blown in the Ram Saint game a few years back? It goes both ways...not sure how to correct it. Mahome's throw on that play was greatly overthrown as well...makes the call worse in my opinion.

1. Having no particular allegiance or opposition to either team, I enjoyed that game for its sheer drama.

2. Patrick Mahomes is really a magician. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a QB with his field vision.

3. Jalen Hurts played his heart out, and will be the leader of successful teams in the next few years.

4. Shouldn’t the debate of whether James Bradberry committed a holding penalty end when James Bradberry says “it was holding”?

5. Of course, not… why let facts get in the way of a good sports debate?

6. The halftime show… meh. Not my thing.

7. Best commercial: The Farmer’s Dog. I’m not crying! You’re crying!

8. Worst commercial: T-Mobile. Sorry, but as nostalgic as it was to see John Travolta performing a song from Grease, and as much as I loved Scrubs, that was in poor taste, given how recently Olivia Newton-John died.

9. It was really noteworthy to me how many rookies contributed to the Chiefs’ win, including several players take on Days 2 and 3.

10. Applying that to the Rams, I want them to focus on guys who are ready to play. No projects, no long-term upside guys. Give me plug-and-play players – regardless of position – who can contribute right away.

11. I’m betting that Sean McVay watched the Chiefs score twice in the Red Zone with a fake motion play that left receivers wide open (I mean, I could have made those throws) and thought “hmmm……”

12. Travis Kelce is a great player but, man… let someone else talk!

13. One of the biggest stories of this game was the Eagles’ inability to get to Mahomes, despite his gimpy ankle and their league-leading pass rush.

14. Yes… that is my way of saying bolster the OL!!!

15. “All-in,” “F them picks,” trade for guys, trade away guys for multiple players/picks… there is no formula for success other than this: always be open to making moves that you believe will enhance your team. Fate favors the bold.

16. So the Rams’ reign as World Champs comes to an end. Are they still in the “window” to challenge again? I think they are.

17. And, because I think they are, I’m expecting the unexpected, so to speak. Don’t tell me the Rams can’t afford this or afford that, or won’t have a shot at one guy or another in the draft, or anything else that suggests a limitation.

18. I’m looking forward to the Combine and the draft. With the Rams obtaining comp picks, there will be opportunities to truly enhance the roster.

19. In the end, while yesterday was a relaxing experience as a fan, I want that tension, those butterflies and that elation that we had last year. I’m greedy that way!

20. Offseason? What offseason?

1&4. At least for me, the issue wasn’t the call, per se, but the fact that the refs hadn’t made that call all game on either team and only made that call on a game defining play.

7. Farmers dog food struck gold. I was crying.

11. That route is one KUPP ran last year… it’s a China hybrid route… the difference is that I’ve never seen a DB bail on the coverage like 29?

Excellent points as always!

Philly will pay Hurts, but I think it's a massive mistake. They had the most talented offense surrounding him and any QB could have a career year in that situation. Further, he's a run first QB and that doesn't scale long term in the NFL. Especially once you pay the running QB and lose the cap space to pay those Olinemen that open those massive holes and suck the defense in.

The Chiefs secondary situation was truly impressive. All those rookies playing at such a high level. Gives me hope, but can we draft that well? Our recent DB selections are not looking so hot.

Give me a top pass rusher (possibly in the draft) and a top FA interior lineman and I do think we can get back to contending. Have to really solidify that Oline and get that pass rusher. Land a couple DB draft picks.

Mahomes truly is impressive. But we were not saying that a few years ago when his Oline was depleted and he couldnt do anything in the Super bowl. Andy Reid is the really impressive one. Wisely rebuilt the Oline with 2 star FA's and a Center we passed on. The Tyreek Hill trade was ballsy but the right move, and the play designs in the Super Bowl left WR's wide open for critical TD's 2x. But to Mahomes credit, he really is a great QB. He is excellent in the pocket and when the game is on the line, assuming he has that protection. I love how he is so humble, such a likeable dude.

Avenger:

Since the holding call is popular and contentious:
Because I speed every morning going to work, am I supposed to tell the cop that he can’t give me a ticket because I always break the law and have never been caught? (Holding every play, but not called) Or should I say that today I’m late so it’s a bad time to give me a ticket? (Game situations shouldn’t matter)
Finally, as one poster said, and it was briefly mentioned during the game, bradbury held him TWICE, once going into the break and once coming out. The replay barely catches the first grab.

As for building a championship roster, many ways have worked. You have to have a good FO, coaches, and some key stars to elevate the play around them; otherwise, it doesn’t really matter how much $$ you spend on FAs or how/where you pick in the draft. Each team has the same amount of $$ to spend. Of course it helps to have a QB!

This brings me to your point about drafting players to develop. The Rams have several gaping holes to fill and the window is closing on a few of our superstars. I’m with you in that the Rams need to hit on a couple of starters this draft. They need to start accumulating their next group of stars this offseason. A roster full of developmental guys won’t do it in ‘23.
