I had this game penciled in as a loss all year, although with the winning streak, I did hold out some hope of victory. Regardless, at a high level I think the Rams have maintained their momentum here and can keep moving forward.

I worry that we may drop one of the three winnable games coming up ... let's stay consistent and make the game against the 49ers meaningful for us!
Only thing I'll quibble with is I hope they do well enough in next three games that 9ers game ISN'T meaningful. lol

Loved the Rams grit in this game. As many others have mentioned, the refs decided to not throw flags this game for holding apparently. There were a few very obvious holds happening. And that block in the back..... ugh

All that said, the Rams could have won this game themselves several times and did not. But, it does prove we can hang with anyone (except maybe the whiners unfortunately).

I believe that Fullers terrible game contributed more then anything to this loss. He was flat out awful.

The Ravens may impact our season… again.

Here’s how…

The Eagles, despite their recent troubles, have a pretty good shot at running the table as they face the Seahawks, Cardinals and NYG twice. If they do, that puts them at 13-4. That probably gives them the NFC East title, as Cowboys face a much tougher schedule (Bills, Dolphins, Lions, Commodes) and are less likely to also run the table.

The 49ers schedule over the next three weeks consists of two games they should win easily (Cardinals, Commodes) and one tough game: Ravens. If Baltimore can win that one, and the Eagles run the table, then, by the time the Rams/49ers game kicks off, the 49ers will be locked in the No. 2 seed and have nothing to play for.

We, on the other hand, may be playing for a playoff spot.

This one could go down to the wire, folks!

I'm hoping the Eagles and Cowboys each drop one more... because I could easily see 9ers run the table. If they go into last game of season with one-game lead over both of those teams, there's nothing to play for as they have the tiebreaker with both.

Certainly plausible.

20RT Footnote 2…

Best two “defensive” plays of the game:

Lamar Jackson successfully kicking ball out of end zone. If he whiffs, the Rams might have ended up recovering the ball for a TD.
Best defensive play? Should have been a 10 yard penalty enforced on the free kick as you can’t purposely kick a loose ball!

I believe there may have been a penalty called and declined.

Either way, a safety was a much better outcome for the Ravens than a Rams TD.

I really appreciate your posts and look forward to reading your postgame 20RTs @AvengerRam. But this response is pure speculation. I never saw a flag thrown and never heard the broadcast speak to it. Jackson could have fallen on the ball (nobody within five yards) or picked it up and safety Danned it. You have enough coordination to kick it square, you can fall on it or pick it up.

Please correct me if I’m wrong

I didn’t see a flag, but I heard the broadcasters did say the Rams declined a penalty. This was echoed by Myles Simmons’ account of the play:

Jackson could have tried to fall on it, but an oblong ball can do funny things (plus, it was wet and slippery). AD and Byron Young were the next closest guys to the ball, so I’d say Jackson made the right call.

Weird I didn’t hear any penalty called, no flags, and why wouldn’t it be enforced on the free kick. Foul occurred in the end zone, it’s a spot foul (ball foul). You can’t push them back any further.

On an extra point, encroachment is enforced on the kickoff. Doesn’t make any sense.

It isnt a post possession foul. If it was called an illegal touch, the penalty would have been enforced from the spot of the foul (like holding), and it would have resulted in a safety since it occurred in the EZ

I also believe they only enforce kicking the ball if it gains field position, going backwards does not. Just opinion on that
