I would prefer a top 20 pick even if for depth over a late day 2 pick at 26

Example: Staks, Booker or Simmons over a reach at #26.

I am hoping Jihaad Campbell somehow falls to #26 but I don't think it will happen.

I truly believe he will with this labrum injury. Scary injury for a MLB to have coming into the NFL IMO.

They did add Devonte Adams. They have Puka Nacua, Tyler Higbee, Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Who can they draft in round 1 that elevates the offense?

Is it likely that a Tight End or receiver makes a big impact? I don’t see this draft as providing that player at pick # 26. I think they need to get lucky like they did with a later pick like Puka again. Otherwise it’s going to be up to McVay to get more creative with his scheme.

I agree that the offense was lacking against zone coverage near the end of last season. It was great against zone though. So maybe they need another player that excels versus man coverage or a contested catch guy.

It seems that at 26 there may be better value on defense. Jihad Campbell would be sweet. a few of the Corners might be better value, and even though it wouldn’t be a sexy pick OT could be a value there.

I’m admittedly biased on getting a more explosive offense. I rather see Rams lose 31-34/win 34-31 than lose 17-20/win 20-17. Great offenses are more fun to watch than great defenses IMO. Also I don’t want them to lose as much punch should Higbee/Nacua go down for a bit. And I am jonesing for a breakaway back to add some explosion.

My first choice is to trade down from R1.26 to get 2 top 90 picks but if any of the players I listed were still available (probably 30% chance) I’m good with their selection.

Perhaps I should have added given how the Rams draft now. Doubtful they'll draft anyone with character concerns or projects at #26.

People who post on internet forums (not just this one, I hasten to add) nearly always underestimate how hard trading down actually is.

Nobody said it was easy. And yet EVERY YEAR teams trade up. The question was "your best case scenario", so I submitted one. And to add to Muggmeister's post, another reason why Chicago migjt want to trade up. New head coach looking for his kind of guys. Perhaps one of them falls to 26?

I am usually way off predicting these prospects every year.

Example:
I was pounding the table for Latu last year over Verse and look how wrong I was.
Some were big on Brian Thomas and I wasn't. Wrong there again.

Having said that, I really really don't want Dart at #26. But if they pick him I'll hold out hope I was wrong again.

Watched a draft show this week where a former NFL Scout/Personnel Director re-emphasized that trading down is hard to do. He stated many years the phones would never ring.

So with that in mind and a class of what appears to be so evenly rated a group of players my pick at #26 was OT Josh Simmons (if cleared medically). But one podcast said that there were possible character issues with him. Could be smoke, but I don't know.

If so, I lean towards either CB Trey Amos or one of those Iowa State WRs now. I was leaning Higgins at first, but now I lean towards Noel due to his extra added special teams contributions as a returner.

But I still believe that the Rams are going to wind up with the same guys I thought they would in December. I'm still guessing it will be either OSU WR Emeka Egbuka or Texas DB Jahdae Barron.

Funny thing is, I could see Egbuka and Barron both being long gone by the time we select and both being guys we skip over.

This draft is a real crap shoot.

I believe they are taking a QB so trading down puts them in a better position to fill needs by gaining more picks.

I can't imagine taking a QB at 26 and not picking again until round 3.

Josh Conerly, and that's based solely on his tweener size and play strength. He just doesn't seem like your prototypical RT. I think you can draft guys later who can develop just fine like Trapilo, Belton, and Lundt.

Burden, doesn't seem special as 1st rd WR.

Otherwise seems there is a lot of evenly rated players and I will trust their evaluation / methodology.

I watched the Senior Bowl practices and the Game; and came-away unimpressed with Conerly's pass pro ... thought he was Beaten-like-a-Drum. Realize that's a small sample size but ... UGH!

Big Rob was a 4th round pick. It’s a luxury, not a necessity to have a first round tackle at ORT.

The guys available at the end of round one come with questions. So, I agree Is rather see them take a RT later. We don’t want another forced pick like Alex Barron
