I was getting a hendrix vibe from the Captain except more psychedelic...It's kinda in the wheelhouse of my boys Fuzzy Duck and Black Merda. I sometimes use those two bands as a seed to find other hidden nuggets like them.

A contemporary band that really captures this genre is the Monophonics. They've been here a number of times and I've seen them once. If you have a chance to see them do it. They were selling this vinyl at the show...In Your Brain. Great retro funk sound. Great band!
