The refs blew both calls:
The fumble was a fumble and should have been called to begin with. Plus not sure of timing but as long as challenge flag was released before the snap the challenge is legit.
The declined penalty is another matter. Can someone confirm Greaseball Siriani declined the penalty/Then waited until the Rams lined up to change his mind? If so - bullshit and shame on the refs. That’s NFL rules 101. Not sure if the Rams would have made it but that’s besides the point.

I believe that is only true if they blow the play dead before it begins, they did not. The entire play happened before a whistle blew. There is no world in which they should be able to act as if the play that was just ran doesn't exist. The refs made an error in not seeing the flag, but the coach also made a mistake it waiting that long to throw the flag in the first place. It should be on that coach and the play should most certainly count. We ran up and hiked it as a strategy.

Regardless, if the play starts before the whistle, it counts. No matter who made the error.

I understand it’s the rule but it’s just another hypocritical situation
Coaches often call for time outs and refs don’t see it. They don’t get a do over. Not sure why a replay is any different.

The refs didn't see the challenge flag, case closed, they should not have been allowed a redo. However the Rams were going to lose regardless. They just were outmatched that day.
