Why so little talk about Karty?

This thread just pisses me off.
Do you throw the baby out with the bathwater?
Fix the blocking and we have a damn good kicker.
Agreed but I still have to wonder about those knuckleball kick offs affecting the kicking motion. It sure looked like his extra points were much higher from the start and we all saw that the kicking motion offs were more just short kickoffs that were easier to field than previous weeks. I’m guessing that McVay decided that ten or so more yards on returns were worth getting Karty back on line with his XPs and FGs.

Time will tell. But I still think Karty is a hell of a kicker and will get right as the season unfolds. It helps that he truly wanted to be drafted by the Rams.

I am still all in on Karty. He kicks a nice ball.

All kickers go through funks, and this is kind of a small one really. If he goes on a roll after this it is all good.

@André it’s a confidence position as you said. Damn I hope he responds.

The shitty thing is… the blocking has been a factor. If it wasn’t, this thread probably doesn’t exist.

Put me in the camp thinking Evans should be doing kickoffs.

I don't think either Karty or Ethan Evans are the problems with our special teams. We simply are lacking when it comes to blocking and swarming to the ball (on the issue of punt returns, such as the one the Jaguars would've scored six on, were it not for one of their boneheaded mistakes).

Last year was great. I don't know what's gone wrong this year and I won't pretend to know what's wrong, but I'm not willing to throw away guys who could be excellent players over it.

It's hard to know for sure if Karty is they guy yet.

Extra points look great... other kicks have been inconsistent.

We will see how things progress.

FUCK! I hate how this IPhone adds words or “corrects” whole statements.

“Kicking motion offs”? I never typed that. WTF would that even mean for you to “corrects whole” it? Holy shit! It just added “a look s and whole” inside my quotes.

Blow me Apple. You suck!

Edit: WTF? It changed the s to an a, and added “look”.

I really think the low kicks were a result of the first blocked kicks. It got in his head and he started rushing the kicks.
It is a combination of things.

Who knows were he is at,but IMO Mcvay has a good idea on what it is.
The reports & Mcvay himself even said SO in interviews like JB as well.He is doing the kickoffs & that has become(became?) a thing.

They say that has changed his kicking style, which makes sense.It. Ganges the routine & method of his kicks.
Last season early he was slumping and was a slight technical error which he fixed mid season..Then to hit like 26 in a row.

Karty is an important piece.I think again the Jags Mcvay made up his mind he wasn’t going to kick field goals. The reason I believe it was he didn’t & they practiced in Baltimore Camden Yards, they have a bye week,& it was raining.

Confidence & routine should help ?

I think the whole damn league is overpaid when my NFL Sunday Ticket price goes up every fucking year so they can give themselves more money. The elite make $100m a year with endorsements, not sure what line of work you're in but I think most feel all athletes are overpaid for what they provide to the country.

Doesn't change my passion for the game of football though.

Respectfully I completely disagree with everything you just wrote, but thank you for your service.

My pops fought in Vietnam from 65-68, this was one of the last pictures I took with him before he passed last year. He only spoke to me one time about his time in Vietnam when I was 18, and he never spoke of it again.....

I don't think McVay changes coaches during the season. He'll wait and replace the current one Blackburn in the off season. Meanwhile I think he'll give him help behind the scenes with the coaching and technique.
