Reeder wears the green dot so while his play is bad he provides value. I'm ready to see Speights over Rozeboom though.

Side note: it's a shame that players who have the best names usually don't pan out. Rozeboom is a great name for a linebacker.
I will admit that I am sure Reeder does a great job with the green dot. I am sure he makes Shula feel all comfortable and shit. But when the defensive front has not played with great discipline, and the secondary has been a fucking mess, and when your ILBs are easy to gameplan for... That's when it's time to reevaluate how valuable that advantage is vs the other options.

If the green dot's the issue.... then I think after JJIII gets back, he'll wear it & after the bye, we start working in Speights & Hummel.

I totally agree. But I do think he's the Green Dot for a reason. Dare I say options could be worse if someone else had to manage defense.

I'd say we are in a sorry state of affairs.

What's one drive going to do. Oh shoot - we gave up another TD with Speights/Hummel. Oh well. Reeder/Rozeboom would have given up the TD too.
At that point it may not just be a player issue but a coaching issue which is worse because they are the ones deciding how to play or who to play.

Yeah Reeder is god awful. The green dot is such a lame excuse. He’s not even good at it considering our defense is out of position so often. I’m just so done with this worthless pile of shit being on my team any longer. I hated the guy back in 2020 when we chose him over Dakota Allen. Still don’t understand it to this day.

Reeder and Rosey still starting, and not doing well.
No surprise there. Reeder is more instinctual and Rozeboom is more athletic but time to take gloves off. It’s embarrassing they are the Rams starters at ILB. any decent team committed to running the ball right up the middle and crosssing receivers in their zones can easily expose them all day every day. A sure fire recipe for success.

What I don't understand is, with how many safeties the Rams draft, why not draft one to convert into a LBer hybrid, if they don't like the traditional LBer prototype? We could convert a safety similar to how Mark Barron was used under Fisher + Gregg Williams. I am not a huge fan of converted safeties to LBer. I like to be heavier at the position. But if you can play, you can play. Mark Barron had some good years for us. I'd kill for that level of play right now at the position.

Well they mixed in more DBs and took both Reeder and Boom out at various times. It's a start I suppose but yeah was frustrating seeing both out there and no Speights at all. I would really like to see some packages at least to get Speights feet wet.

That would be my Plan B if Speights and Hummel can't settle in and be effective. But I'd definitely put them in there first, because a lot of safeties don't like the pounding that position brings. It's one thing to line up in the box on certain downs, but to be up there all the time and dealing with OL steaming around has to be rough for most of these guys.

Unfortunately getting Bobby Evans/ Demby vibes from the coaching staff about those 2 joke of ILBs we have. At the very least, as people have stated on here, rotate other players in their spot. It's insane how they keep putting those 2 out there.

I don't get it. Watching our opponent target and exploit Reeder on play after play is infuriating.

.

Imagine if a journo asked Mcvay if trading away Jones was still the best for this team.

His head might explode.

Has anybody asked jourdan why Speights isn't playing since she (the team) said the reason they were comfortable trading Jones away was the play of Speights?

Like most Rams fans I am beyond frustrated with this situation. WTF have they got to lose, give Speights a chance he can't be any worse. This is the obvious weakness of this defense; Shula, please pull your head out of the sand.

I paid close attention to the LB's yesterday.

Reeder got dragged once for a first down.

Rozeboom made a couple good hits.

Overall, they really didn't have much effect on the outcome good or bad.

The only complaint I had was when we went zone and Reeder and Rozeboom tried to cover Bowers.

At this point it’s past infuriating and just damn inexplicable. If Speights and Hummel are worse than the “speed bump” and the “traffic cone” then find someone off another teams practice squad.

Watch pass coverage again. I know I saw several plays where Rozeboom was literally 2 yards away from Reeder. Both standing like statues looking straight ahead at the QB. I’ve noticed that about Rozeboom a lot. He ends up being no more than a shadow for Reeder.
