Just curious if the Rams did not trade their pick who would you have chosen at #31?

A few I would had been happy with are OL Jawaan Taylor, OL Cody Ford, WR D.K. Metcalf and CB Greedy Williams. With any luck maybe one or more if these players will be available when the Rams pick later today.

After Lawrence, Bradbury and Tillery were gone, I was not excited about anyone else at #31. The trade down to me is best case scenario. But if they remained at 31 and made a pick, I think Taylor or Greedy Williams woulda been my first choice. Those are probably the the top two BPA's according to prospect grades. Ford and McCoy would be good options too.

If we are going strictly by prospect grades, any DT or edge rusher would be a reach at #45. Plenty of them should be available in the 3rd round.

There are two rumors going around the NFL about Jawaan Taylor. He supposedly has a concerning knee issue, but that may not be the problem that has caused him to fall from top 10 to out of the first round. The other rumor is that NFL teams discovered a red flag in his background that has taken him off draft boards. I read a couple of messages from people dismissing that as fake before the draft, but now... maybe not as fake as people thought.

I wondered why that hasn't been made larger news, but I realized that teams are ruthless. They are probably hoping their rival spends an early pick on the guy with the bad knee and the checkered past.

Greedy without a shadow of a doubt.

I think they should have traded up (and believe they'd have had no trouble getting into that 16-18 range where Bradbury and Lawrence lived). But, staying at 31...probably Erik McCoy. Taylor is super interesting, especially since his skillset plays perfectly into the type of zone blocking scheme the Rams use, but he'd be redshirted.

If defense was the focus, either Greedy or Byron Murphy. I like Murphy because he's a big hitter, but not sure he really meshes with what we do.

DK Metcalf and then try to trade Cooks for a 2nd and re sign Suh with the cap savings . You asked :hiding:

There wouldn't be any cap savings for 2019. Cooks would have over $30 million in dead cap if he were traded - all of it hitting in 2019. It would more than double his cap hit for the Rams if he were to be traded.

Not to mention that we just traded away a #1 for him last year.

I’m just thrilled that a guy like Brian Quick is still available, and the Rams are on the clock headed into day 2!

-Jeff Fisher.

Jawaan Taylor, Cody Ford, or Dalton Risner. So much secondary help left in the draft but I dunno how I feel about offensive lineman after these three.

Cody Ford...Go Further!
