Here were my thoughts at the half: Odell was the one guy winning on offense and now he's out. They have stuffed our run game and have won with their run game. Both Chase and Higgins made some plays in the pass game. This is not good. Our defense better have the best half of their lives to win a Super Bowl.
All of a sudden, Higgins "beat" Ramsey and then Stafford got picked and I was starting to think we were going to lose this game.
Simply put, we had a few guys who refused to lose. Kupp, Donald, Stafford and McVay decided enough was enough.
I've eaten crow a few times this year. When we lost three in a row I thought there was no way we'd win it all. When the 49ers beat us the last week of the season, I again thought there was no way we'd win it all. And again here, with the injuries and then the tough start to the second half, I thought we'd end up on the wrong end of this game.
Boy am I happy I was wrong, time and time again.
McVay is the man.
