So is Gesicki. And big slot WRs aren't typically moved all over the formation effectively, which was my point. That is precisely what he is.

I am not seeing any elite skills in Mumpfield or Whittington to believe their upside is anything more than depth.Totally disagree. Whittington and Mumfield haven't been around long an are playing behind Puka, Adams, and whichever TE happens to be on the field. What did you really expect?
How much more high-powered can this offense possibly be?
Now, if you're simply looking for a 2027 replacement for Adams - your point is more valid, but I'd still be interested to see what Whittington and Mumpfield can do.
I’ve read good stuff about him, however one thing bothers me about him.Any thoughts on Concepcion?
Gesicki is Gesicki. Stowers is his own player. So is Gesicki. And big slot WRs aren't typically moved all over the formation effectively, which was my point.

I’m rooting for them, but the elite traits are just not there.
IMO
Idk man I like Whittington and Mumpfield but like you said I think they're role players, no.4/5 on the depth chart. If McVay thought Whittington was a star he would've already played him like one.I think some of you expect FAR too much from young players.
Elite traits = the winners at the underwear Olympics. We need guys that play football and know their rolls. Traits are nice and important, but...
And some guys are late bloomers.
And most players are nowhere as good as Puka and Adams. You can't have a star at every roster spot.
Is a guy like Whittington considered a star? Maybe not to the average fan, but I bet McVay thinks differently.
If your point is that having solid role players on the team is important, i agree with you 100%.I think some of you expect FAR too much from young players.

Man… if Tate is there at 13… grab him! They have Carnell Tate FIFTH!
McVay's not some lib gym teacher handing out participation trophies. The dude has that sugar coated exterior in how he packages everything at the podium and in interviews, but make no mistake... He's a fuckin killer. He will cut your throat if you're not good enough and move on to the better option. Is a guy like Whittington considered a star? By what metric does Sadiq have good hands.5) Kenyon Sadiq:. He is fast, powerful, with good hands. Not known for running great routes, or playing out wide.

We hear things like this often but I really think those are Rams like stats. Those are some impressive stats
No one is looking at Whittington as a star lol.... good role player, yes. If he was such a star, why wasn't he seeing the field more? I think McVay appreciates him as a solid depth player that knows his role.To be clear - my point about McVay possibly looking at Whittington as a star is due to his lack of ego, being a team first guy, and his prowess with blocking. Yeah, it's not the stuff of highlight reels, but I bet McVay appreciates it.
