Which RB will have the most combined yards against the Steelers?

Gentlemen I disagree. Evans is a work in progress in pass protection and that is priority one at this juncture. FWIW, it is what most backs struggle with coming out of college, however, Kyren Williams rated the best in his draft class in pass pro plus Freeman & Henderson are very good.

If Evans isn't ready we better hope the OL holds up in pass pro. Because Evans is the only one with a chance to take over this game.

Also re: RB pass protection 80% of it is give-a-fuck, the willingness to put yourself in there. Because Stafford often assigns them and will do that today.

The dude is a 6th round pick, wasnt expected to see much playing time this season. It's all about McVay's trust level, which has been known to have caused some head scratching in the past.
Keep in mind, Evans is the one with the spot on the 53 man, not relegated to practice squad (or worse) like the others

Not really, you know that is not true. You have to find the right guy to block, if you zig instead of zag, the QB is toast. Now, yes you have to bloody your nose, but having a feel and being able to pick up the right guy is more then 20%.

There's a big difference between managing 1 game and managing the rest of the season. Evans is being developed, the others frankly arent.

I'm just not that disappointed or too surprised. You said "a little disappointing", so it's not like we're really that far apart here.

Henderson was on the street.. but we've seen multiple backs come off the couch to be productive... including CJ Anderson.

Whatever some may have considered Evans, he is a 6th round draft pick with little/no game experience. I don't see the decision as being a judgement on his potential or running ability, I see the Rams as being much more worried about Stafford's health than anything else.

QB health is absolutely paramount.

Deff not far apart on opinions, brother. Just hoping we strike gold again with this draft class. I wasn't a fan of the pick considering Akers had fumbling issues, but the way he runs reminds me alot of Gurley, so if we could capitalize on that potential...

It absolutely is true Den. Admittedly 80% is going a bit far but most of it is willingness to put your head in there. The rest is knowing the protection calls, however once again Stafford routinely tells the RB where to line up pre-snap and which is his gap. He even does this with Williams.

If Evans completely has his head up his ass with protections then I would call passes non-stop to beat these fucks. That's how much confidence I have in Henderson. Freeman I just don't know. But if he can't crack the yards early on I'd pull Freeman off too and put another wideout out there and spread the defense more and bet on this young OL and Stafford's arm.

It's really unfortunate that Williams went out. But moreso is the problem that once again we are here with a weak ass RB group that can't do the job when the top guy goes out. Rams dicked the dog once again with that unit IMO. They fucked around keeping Akers too long, first off, not seeing that coming was a mistake. Then here they are again relying on a guy who was talented but unreliable in college.

It's Evans or bust here. If he can't do the job just throw the fucking ball and pray Stafford stays upright.

To state the obvious, a good running attack is a tremendous aid in holding down the Steeler pass rush.

And the Steelers have a terrible run D, so all McVay needs to remember is to stick with a balanced attack In order to be very successful today.

Pittsburgh has been awful on offense and only won games because of turnovers. That’s the greatest reason I can see for a veteran back today.

Don’t expose Stafford to major pressure and/or strip sacks.
