If I’m taking a flyer on a big QB project, I’m going Green over Allar. Probably Peyton too. At least those two give me some wildcat/etc type options for usage while they figure out how to be an NFL QB.

But I wouldn’t take any of them before round 4 (5-6th makes sense at most for Rams). Plus, this roster is too stacked to keep a useless QB on the 53. Put him on the PS and some crappy team can steal him. Nope. We need potential usage or actual ST usage for back end of the roster.

Allar is not a non-runner. 300 yards running and 6 TD's 2024.

When you look at goff's career, you will see more of the if only the receiver held on to the ball moments, than successes. I don't know why, but it happens to him a lot. Starting with Kupp's drop in the endzone against Seattle 2017. We used to post about the if only misses all the time in here trying to defend him. He just doesn't over come enough when things go wrong.
And you know who dropped his passes the most >> Reynolds.

Reynolds was terrible at dropping key passes.

One of the reasons why I was so glad they got rid of him.

And Cooks could not catch contested catches but at least he caught uncontested passes unlike Reynolds.

Im kind of with @jrry32 on this.

Nussmeier is a guy I wouldn’t hate drafting to sit and develop. I haven’t watched a ton on these QB’s but I liked some things he showed.

Starting to Gain an Allure for Allar.

Now as a Buckeye fan, I never feared him being totally transparent. I always knew, he would make a mistake, regardless of the game he was having and once it went downhill for Allar, he could never recover. But I would rather use a second day pick on someone like Allar, then the likes of Nussmeier or even worse, Cade freaking Klubnik.

Allar did not get the best coaching in college as his OC Andy Kotelnicki's offense focuses on RPO's and the QB moving, although Allar is an excellent athlete, he is more of a pocket passer, that has the ability to extend plays with his legs, so the offense did not match the strengths of Allar. Drew, is big at 6'5, Nussmeier and Klubnik are 6'1 & 6'2 respectively. Allar has a big arm, not limited plus Allar did not have the best WR's in his tenure at Penn State. Now I realize, there has not been a good Penn State QB at the NFL level, the best was Kerry Collins and he was not that good IMHO. Overall, though, I would take a chance on Allar over the little people because Nussmeier is light and has durability issues and Klubnik just seem to shrink against better teams.
Nope. Nussmeier over Allar easily for me. Allar isn't gifted enough to overlook him being bad at playing QB.

That’s fair you were right about Goff over Wentz, however, again I’m going with the bigger, stronger & faster athlete.
Without that pick they had at the bottom of round one I lean towards Allar, too.

I guess I've fallen into the trap. He wasn't very good in college but maybe he would have improved if he hadn't gotten hurt early during his senior year. Of course, maybe not.

But, given how it seems that so many players seemed to have underachieved at Penn State, I'd really love to see what McVay, Ragone, & Kingsbury could do with this kid.
