I think many here are way too hard on Allar. I don't think you can write off a 22 yr old kid that has those kind of tools. This past season should have been an example of that, where everyone wrote off a 26 yr old.
Well I am working on a new conspiracy theory that Den is really in love with Allar. So some of it may be misdirection.

Perhaps you can elaborate one what 26 year old was written off?

Personally I've watched Allar a lot. Strong arm and athletic. But as far as being a good QB he hasn't shown that. He's been just bad at the position.

Darnold was written off 3 yrs ago. Wasn't he? How about Mayfield? He was cut.

Hell, Tom Brady was so impressive in college that he didn't get picked until the sixth round.

I am just saying a guy like Allar has too much going for him that his flaws have a chance to be corrected by good coaching and a little patience.

The problem with Allar is he's been a starter for how long. And look at his feet.

I would think that if he's a QB who has that burning intensity in his heart to succeed, which is required to be a Mayfield or Darnold, he'd at least work on his mechanics. But instead what he's done is rely on that power arm of his.

So he can look me in the eye and tell me how much football means to him. But I'd be thinking he's full of shit and unlikely to be a Mayfield or Darnold. And I also don't think I'd want to wait around for him to go through the low points that will be required for him to find his motivation to refine his game. If that in fact does lead to him finding his motivation. It may not.

Sorry a reference to an unnamed QB written off just raised the question on who you were referring to.

For the record Darnold and Mayfield showed a hell of a lot more ability in college and put good play on video for us to see. The same cannot be said for Allar. The Brady reference isn't even worth acknowledging come on :D

Allar's game play in college would look like somebody worth a late late pick or UDFA there is absolutely nothing to suggest in his play he should be picked earlier or be counted on as anything other than a lottery pick.

Strong arm terrible mechanics

Mobile QB who hasn't produced much in the way of running stats

The worst part of all with Allar? Absolutely disappears the vast majority of the time they played against good teams.

Looks like Tarzan plays worse than Jane.

Nothing about Allar’s game tape warrants anything other than a 7th/UDFA invite.

But his size and athleticism - that’s another story. (Hence your ‘look like Tarzan plays like Jane’ comment).
