I'm not in the condemning business. But have fun with that.

You want someone like that representing this team and these players? If you were the business owner of the Rams and you needed a quarterback, would you tolerate that behavior on and off the field from said quarterback? I condemn because I don't believe he has near the amount of leadership you think he does - at the single most important position on the field. And at 5'9" and with a popgun arm and lacking elite athleticism, the only reason he's being considered is because this quarterback class is weak.

I know you and a few others want to condemn him for his behavior. I don't.

I've found that some of the best leaders are made of a little bit of crazy. That dude has leadership in spades. You could make something out of that if he only had a little more size and arm but he doesn't and that is something I will write him off for.
I concur. I'm not going to ding him for being uber competitive and even a little immature.

First practice about to kick off in Mobile. I think with this year's QB class it would be wise to look very deep at them and identify the how's and why's some of them disappointed.

Also and again Robertson's a legit prospect, dude had zero defense, no real run game, and was playing from behind a lot. Has the basic tool set. When you consider what the Rams need, which is a QB3 with potential to start after cooking on the bench, assuming he does the work... There's options.

So I don't get the need some have to stick their nose in the air with the QB position. All these guys are dice rolls. This year's dice rolls are steeper odds, but the Rams should take a shot on one of them. Way I see it if the dude has the raw tools (which quite a few of them do), fits the offense (which quite a few of them do), and has the competitive drive and desire you want to see (this is the question) then take a shot on him where you know he'll be there at the best value.
Apparently the knock on Roberston is his accuracy is very inconsistent. McShay had said you could watch him make some throws that make you think he is a top 5 guy. Then you will see wild throws that are not close to being on target. So he has mechanical issues. Fixable.

He also played in a simplistic offense where he didn't have to read defenses very much and normally just threw to his primary target. Again, you can develop that skill.

If they pass on Simpson, I would be all in on Robertson, even if you have to reach with maybe the Scheelchase comp pick if they get one at the end of rd 3.

Who knows maybe Robertson rises higher than that through this process?

Yeah this is what I saw as well. He had a game vs a 17th ranked team where I think he won it, hard to remember I watched a bunch of his stuff all at once. But at the start he missed and missed and missed.

Streaky as hell. Which I do not like. However again for a depth chart QB whatever. A two year stint on the bench includes plenty of time to nail his mechanics and see if you can get the most from him.

They were saying btw during the practice that the Arkansas kid won't make it out of round 2. He's raw as hell but looks the part.

IDK Levis under Liam Coen as his OC led Kentucky to their best season in years.
Yep. Levis spent time running the Rams offense in college. They said Coen showed them Rams film during installs of the offense. Coen talked him up quite a bit pre-draft too.

Also he's the retread QB that we would be buying low on, as he's coming off that shoulder injury. Which is important. I don't want to spend all that much on one of these guys if we do go that route.

Just stop. And let's disagree.

Agreed. The difference between them is that Willis's legs are a trump card. He needed to improve as a passer, but he didn't need to become elite at it because he's such a gifted runner. Levis has functional mobility, but he'll have to win with his arm. I think the Willis jump is easier to make. That said, I'm not opposed to taking a shot on Levis if we're buying low. Worst case scenario, we're not impressed with what we see and we draft a QB next year.

A great passer that offers nothing with legs vs. a slightly above average passer that does offer something with his legs.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I still struggle with just how much of a drop off there would be under McVay.

Green sure does everything seems to be there and then it’s not. Not sure he had the best coaching at Arkansas, but not sure he should have a 2nd round grade on him unless he overly impresses at the combine.

Not sure I'd target him. Just relaying what they said during the practice. And Jeremiah was one of the announcers.

But he really does look great out there with that height. Especially after watching some of the others. :laugh2:

We'll see how he does as the week unfolds.

I'm a little confused. It's happening more often now.

Are some posters on this thread and the "Who's # three" thread suggesting the Rams might be better-off having a QB with good mobility?

Just for the record, Cosmo Kramer and I agree ...
