To be fair, the first "protection failure" analyzed by Warner was based on Colby Parkinson, not Ferg.Yeah, was interesting watching Warner's analysis of that. I wonder if he was actually supposed to just release or hold the block longer due to assignment and he missed it. Otherwise, that was a total failure of the protection call and not the player.
I recorded it, then sat down and started watching it an hour behind the live broadcast. A fast fwd through it pretty quick. It was a tough watch.Mike Smith sits on that shitty field goal lead for most of the game by conservatively running the ball. Then loses in final minute after his RB fumbles. How the hell that dude was ever an NFL coach I have no idea.
I'd say I wish I could get the last two hours back but was watching it while gaming fortunately.![]()
How did Dean Connors (HB from Houston) play?Mike Smith sits on that shitty field goal lead for most of the game by conservatively running the ball. Then loses in final minute after his RB fumbles. How the hell that dude was ever an NFL coach I have no idea.

The backs as a group got a lot of work. Allen looked good late but then had the fumble. Perrin showed a good burst but it was a huge hole. No real big plays. Defenses had shit locked down. How did Dean Connors (HB from Houston) play?
Some detailed 26' QB discussion
They are very high on Simpson if he goes to the Rams and can learn.

Klubnik feels like the guy I'd take.I would hope they address...
At least two CBs, at least one high, one mid, maybe a 3rd one late.
An athletic off ball LB relatively high. Landman's contract is not an obstacle. He can be cut if need be after 26' with only a $2M dead cap hit.
A WR/TE high that can be a playmaker. And if they dont go WR in rd 1, grab one or two somewhere in the top 150.
Add a 325 lb DT to back up Ford.
Add a developmental OT and maybe a C.
And take a flyer on a QB late... one of these fallen stars like Klubnik or Allar... maybe Robertson a little earlier in the top 140. Maybe one of these guys is salvageable.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by his film. Didn't expect to like an Iowa QB. No offense to our resident Iowa honks.I think I'm becoming more and more interested in Mark Gronowski (Iowa) as a late-round developmental QB. Played in a running system in South Dakota State, was mostly used for his legs at Iowa, but he can really throw with accuracy and touch. He's a bigger QB (6'3", 230 lbs.) as well.
