He's a skinny, running Quarterback who doesn't know how to protect himself. Doesn't impress me from the pocket whatsoever. Looked LOST this season. His rookie year was his best we will see going forward IMHO. RG the 4th, incoming.

All in my humble OPINION of course.. .....
Yeah, respectfully, you're miles off the mark.

Doing his diligence and getting that quote out of Lawrence's family would be great work by the scout. Feather in his cap for sure, as I didn't recall hearing that with Lawrence. But Lawrence just had his best season. So what happens if he goes on to a top career over the next decade which is possible. Much is still TBD.

Funny thing about Mendoza is my biggest criticism of him is he is a fuckin dork. He reminds me a little of Payton Manning, smart kid who is gonna stop at nothing in terms of doing the work. Manning also had the size you want with a "good enough" arm. Mendoza is a better athlete though, stronger too, and can get you yards when he needs them on the ground.

I think if you're expecting Mendoza to bust you're in for a painful ride. Granted the Raiders could fuck up a wet dream. But if they take Mendoza their fortunes are going to change, at least on offense, because he's gonna live in the film room and bust his ass to improve like Payton did.
I too got the feeling that Mendoza is a good, safe prospect watching him this year. But this article makes an interesting case based on analytics:

I have no problem with Mendoza I think he'll be a fine pro. I don't think he's a lock franchise QB going to change a teams fortunes around by himself kind of guy. But if the Raiders support him with a team and coaches I think he'll be just fine. I've said before the comps I see most often for him feel accurate in Goff and Cousins. This year he's obviously the #1 pick last year maybe 3rd or 4th? Year before lower than that maybe? Next year lower than that maybe? Raiders will be fine and should take him and build a team up that they currently don't have.

Anyone opposed to dealing a 4th or 5th to New Orleans for Spencer Rattler as our "Developmental QB" if Saints are so inclined???

I'm ready to have this conversation. He had a high completion percentage because he averaged 9.1 yards per COMPLETION. That's abysmal. Yes, I am strongly opposed to trading a 4th or 5th round pick for Rattler.
