I suspect that has more to do with not getting any interest in FA. In fact the Rams may not be interested either. They're hard to read.
McVay said they need a vet presence, while discussing Jimmy, but that could have been coachspeak or him just being gracious as he usually is towards his player. Doesn't mean the Rams have actually made him any offers. Also it felt more like a slam on Bennett tbh, meaning an open acknowledgement he's not ready for QB2.
That was me with Ferguson last year. There's kind of a "huh, what, why?" reaction and then you just look at the positives and hope for the best because that's all you can do. At least as today's Rams fans we have the privilege of knowing our FO knows what they're doing because it certainly hasn't always been that way.
I'm now thinking we do some kind of trade up for Tyson if the Giants don't grab him at 5. Not particularly thrilled about trading up, but think Tyson is an great talent.
Its a bummer. All this time we were hoping he's be at our pick or lower. He works out and is now seen as he (likely) should have been seen.

This will likely be a very unpopular opinion but I like this QB. Reminds me of a less reckless Jaxson Dart (who I was hoping the Rams would get last year). This kid in our system for a year watching would be a great fit for our offense. Would be really happy if they picked Simpson.

Way I see it he's the only wideout in this draft who is a legit top ten talent. He moves like OBJ. You simply cannot coach that. Tate's probably a 15+ range type in a better draft. Lemon is a late first round type.
Do you want the legit talent or the safer option who comes with better durability. Again it feels like teams in our range got the shit end of the stick with this class, what with all the medical issues and short arms. It's downright irritating. Rams are going to be selecting in a minefield.
Burrow is the dream.
I’d give a haul for that guy if the opportunity came in to play.
What we need is for Stafford to play until Joe's contract is up and he becomes a free agent. Pipe dream? Nah.
