The points are there but i think we can all agree that the rhythm and execution is not.

Hawaiian pizza. Easily. I'd also add anchovies because who the fuck wants to eat fish with cheese?

Outside of the pizza (then again, maybe it IS a problem ...), I think the top two are scheming/McVay playcalling and OL. I think both of those are playing off of each other ... McVay is not doing enough to compensate for the deficiencies in the OL, the OL is forcing McVay to do things that are not consistent with our strengths of the last two years. Both of those things are affecting Goff (not that he doesn't share some responsibility, just less than the other two).

In general... offenses take longer to get going at the beginning of each season than defenses do. Especially with the way today's NFL is handling preseason games.

So... defenses usually have somewhat of an advantage during the 1st part of every season.

We're through 4 weeks now... I expect our offense to start putting everything together on a more consistent basis going forward.

The Oline is a wet paper bag. It looks like they just gave up last game. Goff has to learn to beat the blitz.
Seems like Gurley can only run down hill.

But there’s 16 games in a season. Bruce Arians is a good coach.
Winston has these games where he looks amazing. Then goes and throw 4 interceptions the next week.
I think it was just a fluke playing against a team that wanted it more.

Goff has to be a leader tho. Idk if he will ever be that.

I tried to pick everything except Hawaiian pizza. There's nothing wrong with Hawaiian pizza.

However, I think a lot of little too middling inconsistencies in performance of "all of the above" is coming into a perfect storm of poo. The O line isn't like the last 2 years. That means the perfect play call would be less effective. But we aren't getting perfect play calls. And then within those play calls Goff is making suboptimal decisions, which he's done before on what's almost a pattern. But before the better play calling and O line play meant he could take those risks and win the play. Altogether, the problems are compounding into a substandard performance level.

Havs, Noteboom along with O-Line not in sync or simply not a top 10 -15 talented unit.

The Special Teams not playing up to their normal consistent dominance.

McVay still tinkering with the offense along with Goff getting strip fumbles and not climbing the pocket like he's capable of.

Gurley still has some juice but seems to be going down with ankle SLAPS on open field runs when we're expecting him to break most of those type of tackles for big gains.

Being the NFC Champs gets you everyone's best punch and they got some hay-makers landed on their chin vs the Bucs.

This team can still be championship caliber but everyone that watches and loves the NFL will be tuning in to see how they get up off the canvas at Seattle tomorrow night.

I know a large group of comrades here in FL are gesturing that the Seattle game will show if the Rams have the true heart of a champion or are they merely a second tier contender?

Could not agree more.

Wait. Yeah I can because I could start bitching about the NFLPA and their negotiated work load. But I’ve done that before.......so ok ....leaving it at what you said.

That's a great point too. Those real practices make a big difference in game prep.

During the Tampon game I kept saying “ You play like you Practice”

Then I had this whole speech ready for the vent thread about just that topic. Decided in the end to just paraphrase and say “ You gotta be ready to play the game”

He is a leader. Has been a leader. Did you watch the nfc championship game. HE lead the rams back in that loud ass dome. His demeanor helps keep the team calm when they are down 21 points.

I think it's all OLine. So many of the Rams offensive plays involve hitting second level blocks. The interior is not hitting them.

The other problem is the line lacks size and strength on the interior. It affects runs and pass blocking both. At Tackle we are seeing Havenstein lacking quickness, and Whitworth is also.

This ruins the entire game plan.

The war is won in the trenches. Gurley's performance or lack thereof behind that line making it harder for him; makes Goff throw it more. No threat to run, means more pressure for Goff consistently; which leads to more turnovers from hits and lack of protection. And btw, Hawaiian Pizza is delicious; yeah I said it...

Pretty sure our 85.7% got it right

After that, the only other logical explanation must be Hawaiian Pizza, wasn’t it @Corbin who actually brought it up in the first place? (In a brilliant deflection on a thread that had run its course)

Good god man, see what you went and done?

Reviewing my notes:

game 1 - Noteboom and Allen getting destroyed, Goff missing some passes

game 2 - Goff settles in. WR’s missing perfect passes, Havenstein getting abused by Jordan. Demby gets in the game and gets abused. Allen really settles in.

game 3 - Demby gets destroyed all game, Whit falls off two plays, Havenstein can’t handle Garrett. Mcvay blows some third down calls. Goff or Helmet communication screws up third and 1 call. Oline penalties start popping up.

game 4-offense starts slow on first 4 possessions with penalties, tipped passes for interception and a bad pass by Goff for a pick. Rams cannot run the ball ay all vs top run defense. Rams manage scores on 6 of their next 7 possessions until Barrett goes unblocked by Havenstein to knock ball out of Goff’s hand and end the game.Rams offense scores 33 pts, which is right on par with its two year average. The defense folded by Phillips lack of pass defense adjustments.

Multiple violators. We are 3-1, in the one game we lost Phillips was the culprit.

Biggest places to improve- oline run game and pass pro on the edges.
