If you can’t do it all in 2023… beefing up one unit makes sense. Be hard to beat on one side of the ball.

Offense it is. It is McVay’s bread and butter. Do whatever we can to make the offense strong. This seems to be the chatter Jourdan is saying too.

The defense? Do your best Morris. It is going to take scheme to have success because the draft picks are going towards the O.

That’s how I’d do it. Why spread the butter? Be great on one thing. And Offense is McVay’s thing.

What do you think the strategy should be going into the draft?

I think they roll the dice on the OL. Only addition will be late round types for the pipeline. I don't like it but it feels like that's the gamble, and if things work out for them then they could emerge with a solid team.

Basically if you avoid the OL other than a late round type for the pipeline or whatever you suddenly have a better chance to fill a lot of defensive holes. And still maybe come out of the draft with a young TE you like and a RB to prevent us from fully depending on Akers.

Says you? If we don't draft at least a handful of spots on defense I'll question very strongly McSneads intelligence. Based on the past I'd say the OL gets the least amount of attention and there's a new Creed Humphrey in peoples dreams and on their lips.

.

maybe it's time for the rams to change things up and take oline in the 2nd.

while their 2nd round picks haven't been bad they haven't really set the world on fire either. do something different.

i've never seen such a consensus view of a player before the tutu pick. every man and his dog were pining for humphrey. it made the most sense where need and bpa were perfectly aligned. but they picked tutu so some of us hoped for the best while others couldn't let humphrey go and seemingly every one of their posts was about him. then they didn't even play tutu. perplexing. what was the plan?

please do something different.

Its gotta be offense. Stafford is still a high end quarterback. Kupp is still an elite receiver. Jefferson is a solid second option. Tutu is a legit deep threat. Akers got his head outta his ass and started to look like the guy we drafted. Not to mention its a contract year for him. He should be on his best behavior if he wants a nice deal from someone.

Higbee is a nice all around tight end who can block and catch passes. The line has potential in guys like Jackson, Anchrum, Arcuri, Bruss, etc. Allen and Noteboom are injury prone but I feel like they should be better prepared with the depth this time.

Its gonna come down to health overall. We had the worst luck last year. I wouldn't expect the odds to be against us that much again. If the line can improve somewhat the offense should be better.

Looking at the defense, seeing quite a few guys settling for one year deals elsewhere makes me wonder if maybe we overvalued them. Perhaps losing them isn't as bad as we think? I would expect more of the bend don't break give more cushion to continue under Morris. He's gonna want to protect the inexperienced guys from getting beat deep. As frustrating as it was to watch so many easy pitch and catch plays, quite a few times by the end of the game they didn't give up as many points as you would expect.

If Rams stay healthy I can see 11-12 wins, if not I see 4-5.

I don't see Allen or Noteboom staying healthy, center and left tackle are a big problem. At 36 we can get a center and my hope for left tackle is Jackson.

Adding a high-level offensive lineman would go a long way to making the offense a top-level unit. That doesn't mean that they can't start to reload the defense too. IDK A running mate for Akers would be great too.

I’m Assuming the Rams trade 2.36 for lower R2 + R4 pick. Select Cody Mauch or Steve Avila with R3 pick. Select Ricky Stromberg with R5 pick. Select Ty
OT with R6 pick. 2023 OL:
LT
AJax/Note
LG
Mauch or Avila/Anchrum
OC
Shelton/Stromberg
RG
Bruss/ZThomas or Acuri
RT
Hav/R6 Draft Pick
For 2024 draft or trade for a LT with if AJax doesn’t work out. Stromberg takes over for Shelton. Note goes bye bye.

Agree

I didn't want to start another thread so similar, but I wanted to ask, what is our strongest position group?

QB? Stafford has no one behind him and even if he did, 2 players ain't a group.
DL? Hard to believe after losing Gaines and A'Shawn. AD and all those other DL?
WR? This might be it, despite no love for ARob and very little for VJ and Tutu.
OL? DBs? Not if I've read ramsnation correctly the last 8 weeks.
LB? Jones & ????
RB? Akers and Williams? See QB.
TE?
Certainly not Edge.

So there are many groups. And one has to be the strongest
So which?
