I honestly think that Corbett can solve the right guard issue, putting Blythe on the bench for backup purposes. Young solves the inside linebacker spot.

Otherwise, what can we do to improve? And if we do, what will be the cost? Those are what I'm concerned about.

Probably not much. I like the new acquisitions, so i'm as happy as most about these moves, it's just that I don't want to get overconfident about our OL while beating up on lesser teams like Atlanta and Cincy. I doubt Blythe gets pulled this season unless injured, but Corbett should offer good competition at R & LG for 2020, going at it with Edwards, Evans, Brewer & perhaps even Demby again following an off-seasons worth of strength conditioning & training. I think all these guys will show improvement with a year of growth & experience, my only issue right now is over-expectations from the fan base after we kick the living daylights out of the Bengals.

Which offensive lineman would get benched? Blythe? One of three OL to start every game since last year? Nah. Any trade would be like Corbett - depth only.

Any OL who might come available during the season will come with a ton of competitive offers from other teams so it's hard for me to imagine a situation where Les pulls off another deal.

Agree.
Since Gervase was elevated from the practice squad to the regular roster, i'd like to see the Rams raid another teams practice squad at any position where they see fit to improve depth. We can still bring a player aboard from another team without the cost of free agency as we only have 9 guys listed on our own p/s currently. Among the 31 other teams, there has to be 1 practice squad player the Rams scouting department likes for future potential. jmo.

So the question is does the FO think the Rams can make a run thru the rest of the season and do more than just make the playoffs. If the do and I think they do - we need to improve the run game. The only way I know how to do that is to improve our OL. Assuming both OTs and C set. That means the improvement either needs to come from our current OGs or we need to improve our OGs. The Rams may end of staying pat but I KNOW they are strongly considering all trade options.

I don't think that's possible. You can raid another team's PS to put a player on your 53, but not to add to your own PS. Otherwise teams would be raiding their opponent's PS every week to get info on them.

It won't happen , but replacing Troy Hill would be nice . He worries me

I understand that, but bringing another player on board allows us to place a lesser player on waivers who could fill out our own practice squad once he returns. It also adds depth at a competitive position for 2020. If the Rams were to find a ps player off another roster, Hager, Demby or John Kelly might be waived. jmo.

Yeah should have used the word "sign" instead of extension. I expect the Rams to try to keep him around.

We do not necessarily need a name player to fill out the starting OL, just someone who can get the job done. Playing the winless Bengals will provide valuable opportunities to see how effective some players are in live play. Then we have the bye week, with a contest against the struggling Steelers next. So we will have opportunities to fine-tune this OL before we enter the meat of the remainder of our schedule.

Oh, I'm not getting complacent...

Josh Reynolds comes to mind for me...especially now that Sanu got traded to NE - for a 2nd!
Player Every NFL Team Should Shop at the Trade Deadline

Los Angeles Rams: WR Josh Reynolds

When Rams wideout Cooper Kupp went down with a torn ACL last season, the team turned to Josh Reynolds. He filled in admirably, starting eight games and catching 29 passes for 402 yards and five touchdowns.

With Kupp healthy—and on a remarkable run—Reynolds has been an afterthought. Despite appearing in all seven games, he has just two catches for 34 yards.

If the Rams are not going to use Reynolds, they may be able to trade him to a team that can. The Texas A&M product has proved he can be a factor when given the opportunity, and there are several teams that appear to be in the wide receiver market. The Panthers and Eagles could be among the teams interested in Reynolds.

What would they trade back? The Rams aren't going to make a trade just for the sake of a trade - they see themselves as contenders still.

When I put his name forward a few weeks back, people weren't all too supportive at the time.

I'd be happy with a 3'rd rounder as the Rams can always use more draft picks, especially in a year (2020) where CAP dollars are likely to be more scarce for potential future free agents. He was drafted in the 4'th, so i'd call that a win. Bring Webster up from the practice squad. If we get in a bind from injury, Thomas had a very good pre-season, as did Webster, so I doubt the fall-off will be all that great. And we can always make more use of an ascending Everett. jmo.

Rams WR unit is one of the best in the NFL. Having Thomas/ Reynolds & Natson eating up bench seats all game does not make too much sense when you also have a young talent like Webster in street clothes under contract too.

Like @Riverumbbq correctly said Snead needs 3rd & 4th round draft selections in the worse way to combat the pending future salary cap hell situation.

Thomas, Natson & Webster can easily take up the slack of Reynolds who does not play in any of the ST's. Then throw in Gerald Everett who has been used as a wide out lately then it's a no brainer to trade Josh.

I hear alot of trade Reynolds from a practical standpoint how much is a #4 wr worth doubt much. I get the arguments but do people think he would fetch on the trade market my guess almost nothing maybe a 5th rounder at best and o think that is probably high. He is not consistent he drops passes never seems to be in Goff's/McVays flow. As a sweetner on a deal say for Glenn maybe to get us over the hump to make the deal happen but that's it.
