Perhaps it's time to look again at Mr Elite, you know that QB who's allergic to pressure and STILL can't see the field or move up into the pocket after 3+ years.
We had an extensive discussion regarding Mr Elites skill set a few months back but I see that there are still those unconvinced as to the reality of our dear leader.

Therefore, for the sake of reality, here once again is a taste (review) of Mr Goff's actual results....

In the past 11 games Mr Clutch. aka, (to some) Mr Elite has accomplished the following despite the gobs of money thrown at him......btw, where can I find a gig that pays me tens of millions per year despite under performing on almost every level?

So without further adieu, please consider these outstanding statistics and then ask yourselves once again.....why do I believe Mr Goff is (ugh) elite?

Past 11 games...

Comp pct: 59.1

Pass ypg: 235.5

TD's: 11

Int's: 11

.....and the "coup de gras" (7) turn overs in the past 2 games....talk about clutch.

I'll spare you all any additional pain by not even beginning to go into how many throws this sorry excuse for an elite QB has missed over that same period.

Finally, remember the definition of insanity and whether it applies to this sorry situation because I don't see it going away any time soon.
What's your solution?

This too ^. We drafted Everett for a reason, and in fact, he was taken ahead of Kupp. He's a big, physical athletic target that presents mismatch problems for defenses. We need to see more of him and more 12 personnel, if nothing else, to at least make teams think twice about throwing the 6-1 alignment against us.

I don't even want more 12 personnel. The WRs are the best part of our O right now. I want Everett playing over Higbee.

It was clear. If the D showed that 6-1 front, we weren't running and teams KNOW that now.

Either McVay adjusts or this is gonna be a LOOOOOONG season.

What's funny is that we have two really good TEs and if he would run that Washington 2TE offense, that 6-1 would evaporate in a hurry.

TB wasn't running the 6-1. They just have a beastly run D. That's why we weren't running on them. We can run on the 6-1 with inside zone.

I posted this on the game day thread but - have you guys seen the Natural? Of course you have

Do we have a Harriet Bird on our hands here with Goff?

I know the chick is super hot and all Jared but she may be throwing your game off seriously.

Did you know the ancient Jewish tribes abstained from sex for weeks before battle? Maybe Jared needs to go to temple?
Or just stop throwing passes to the other team.

One thing that hasn't been really discussed is the resilience that Goff has.

Down 21 points in the first half and then 18 points at the beginning of the 4th qtr - Goff drove the Rams to TDs both times and we had a chance to win this game if the defense had done their part and created more than 1 punt.

However, after that interception return by Peters for a TD, I thought for sure we were going to win the game with us only being down by 5 with over 6 minutes to go.

And then TB drove down the field to kick a field goal to put them up by 8 with over 2 minutes to go.

That was a swift kick to the stomach when that happened.

Folks, the problem isn't Goff. If your offense scores 40 points and you lose, it's not on the offense. I said this at the beginning of the year, and last year, your defense can not keep letting the other team score so many points. The average score over the last 30 years is like 23.5 ppg. If your defense gives up more than that, you won't continue to be a winner. Look at last year, including the playoff you had 10 games that qualified. It can't continue and have the Rams continue to win.

Part of the frustration is because the offense isn't running smoothly and is turning the ball over too much. But you're right. The offense scored 34. The defense gave up 48.

Im really trying to understand this thought process. Turning the ball over 4 times isn't on Goff? Did that not put our defense in bad spots and horrible field position? Did that not put our defense on the field for longer than they should have been? Did the fumble not go back for 6pts?

Come on man, people have been trying to pin this on the defense alone. We still could have won. What about the defense in the Chiefs or Vikings game last year? They got carved up, but Goff didnt turn the ball over FOUR TIMES and miss two wide open TDs.

The o-line needs to be better yes. We are not running the ball I think because McVay has lost confidence in the OL. But to say this game wasn't on Goff is just totally false. Honestly, how do people watch that game and tell themselves Goff played well? It's fucking ludacris, the guy has been turning the ball over more than anyone in the league. Leads in INTs. Leads in fumbles. Missing wide open throws. Wide fucking open TDs. 27th in the NFL in passing percentage. And thats just this season through 4 games! Go look at the last 12 games.

It's okay for us to say he needs to be better! Its okay its not blasphemy! He does need to be better please wake up.

Goff needs to be better, but three of the four TOs were more Hav's fault than Goff's. Our protection has stunk. And that's a big problem. And let's not make excuses for the D. They weren't getting stops, period. The turnovers weren't causing the issues. This game wasn't on Goff. It was on the Rams as a whole.

I know, man, I know. When Peters picked that ball, I thought that changed the momentum of the game. I expected the D to come out and get a stop. Instead, they got steamrolled again while Tampa milked the clock.

Any blame people want to put of Goff has to also include credit to him for getting them back in the game and keeping the pressure on TB

Maybe if the line holds their blocks a split second longer, his arm wouldn't get hit while throwing the pass that results in an interception.

Only a couple of the interceptions this year were entirely on Goff and I think one came at the end of a half on a hail mary

Frankly, some of the people here are reminding me of how the Cowboys fans used to treat Romo. I remember a game against the Broncos. I think the Cowboys lost 51-48 after Romo threw a pick on their last drive. They went off on how Romo cost them the game. All I could think was, "48 points should always be enough points to win a game."

It was announced that Rob was going to play RG but it never really happened. If I remember right, team traded Robinson in June, which kept Rob at RT. That was before TC that year. Rob only practiced at OG during OTA's. He played all of 2017 at RT. I also remember how surprised I was when he was offered an extension before last season. The team is basically going to keep him at least through the 2020 season. He's too expensive to simply sit on the bench.

All I'm saying is that they need to find him a place other than RT where he's getting abused. There is no way I see him playing worse than Blythe did on Sunday. There were times when Blythe looked lost. There is something wrong when an o-line player is shown once or twice a game standing alone while the action moves off. I don't see the hustle or any sense of urgency. He's just standing there with his hands by his sides. Kromer is okay with that?

As far as Edwards is concerned they trust him enough to be the swing OT on game days. It's obvious to me that the team can't stand pat. They have 4 more games to play before their bye. If they are going to make a move regarding Havenstein they need to do it after the Seattle game. But Blythe is another matter. Next man up be it Shelton or Brewer, but haven't they seen enough of Austin? Allowing a free runner at Goff because he's not handling his gap responsibilities is unacceptable. He just stood there while the guy ran right by him. There is no excuse for that.

Replace Blythe and give Rob help with a TE is what they should do NOW or they will lose to the Hawks. They can survive this loss but not one to the Hawks a divisional opponent.

4 turnovers is a killer.
11 rushing attempts compared to 68 passing attempts is shocking.
13 penalties is something from the Fisher years.

Rams have looked out of sync all season in all facets. Lots of work to do.

He's been lucky this season since he could have had more INTs. Not tipped balls either. Thrown directly at the opposing player. The Rams defense has usually bailed him out. His O line did play very bad this game which certainly effected his play.

Just finished film of #TBvsLAR and no joke that might’ve been the BEST game I’ve ever seen Jared Goff play. Under constant duress and still made a ton of big-time throws. Biggest issue was their o-line got dominated by Shaq Barrett and crew #LARams

I mean he’s not wrong. Goff made some insane throws. Unfortunately he missed a couple big ones. But you don’t normally win games when the defense gives up 48 fucking points.

That's twice that Chris Simms has sung Goff's praises this year.

I think we need to invest in some interior linemen.

I was hugging total strangers! We were acting like 8 year old girls who were just told they were all getting ponies for X-mas, jumping around, screaming. It was fricken awesome! Buc fans were REAL QUIET! That third down conversion for the Bucs was huge late in the game. That first down they got there, instead of a punt, was a pivotal moment. I think they got that field goal on that drive that should have ended way back at the other side of the field.
