Between pressures, hits and sacks, Goff only had something like 10 pass attempts where he was clean.

out of 68 attempts. Our OL is the issue at the moment in part due to experience and in part due to that 6-1 scheme that focuses pressure in both A gaps.

Has anyone noticed that teams are always rushing at least 5 guys?
This is the new normal until we burn the blitz.

Every game. Every down.

And don’t think Pete Carroll won’t have wrinkles on this for Thursday.

This one starts at the top, with the playcallers. When you have your QB drop back 70 times, especially with an OL playing poorly, bad thing are going to happen. It doesn't excuse Goff not taking care of the ball, but still - you can't put your QB in that type of situation and expect nothing bad to happen. McVay has to do better. Nor does it excuse an OL that still isn't playing well and had far too many bonehead penalties today.

I didn't get a snap count in personnel today, but if that grouping is having trouble with the 6-1 fronts we're seeing it's time to go to something else, like 12 personnel or whatever. I get you want your best receivers on the field, but if it's not working, it's not working, and teams are going to keep throwing that at us until we make them pay for it. And with the OL struggling, it's even harder. He needs to get creative and come up with something else to both counter what defenses are throwing at his offense as well as to compensate for the current weakness in the OL. He really hasn't done so through four games, and that's worrisome.

I'll cut Wade a little more slack. His gameplan today absolutely sucked and he utterly failed to adjust ... and gawd I fucking HATE soft coverage. Damn I hate that shit. Still, Wade gets a mulligan because the D was ok in Carolina (better than the score indicated IMO) and great against NO and CLE - the latter who went on the road today and dropped 40 on the Ravens. So that's not a trend, like it is on the other side of the ball. Let's hope Wade rebounds Thursday night.

I didn’t read all the comments so I’m sorry if this has been mentioned, but not retaining Saffold is starting to look like the wrong decision. I like Noteboom but Saffold was great for this team. I know there’s more going on than just Saffold’s absence, but having him on the line would be really helpful.

Meh... we played like total shit and I’d rather our wake up call be now than against the Shitchickens. Guarantee they going to be rearing to go against the Seahawks!

On to the next game which is an important divisional game.

Brady in Belichick’s EP offense and zero OL help could still function. And they did. Their OL was trash for years.

McVay is smart but he isn’t belichick smart. Our OL is lacking, their OL is lacking but it comes down to the solid plan B when all else fails. You should always have a contingency if your OL cannot play up to par...

Yea 517 yards and 7 scoring drives doesn't cut it. The bum.

Yea he was pressured 30 times, but if he cant put up 600 yards and 50 points he's not cutting it.

The 10 penalites on the offense was Goff's fault clearly to.

This is the mentality I dont understand. Of course he made good throws at times. Of course we came back from 21 points down. He moved well at times under pressure, made a tight RZ throw to Everett which was very nice. But that doesnt erase the fact that Goff had 4 turnovers. That doesnt erase the wide open missed TDs that he had, which would have offset the turnovers.

Or how about even after ALLLL the bad play today. After being down 21 points, after throwing 3 interceptions, he still had a chance to drive us down and win the game. But gets sacked and coughs up his 12th fumble in the last 12 games.

His inconsistent play isnt cutting it however you want to slice it.

Just got back from the game... First impression, without reviewing anything. Our Defense SUCKED!!!!! I saw one fucking punt by the Bucs, in the first QT. The Goff turnovers? I have to see them replayed. But regardless.... how the fuck do you come up with 40 points at home and lose?

Mostly agree except the part about Wade. Yes the D has been better this year (prior to today) but we are now in year three of his D. Add to the fact that we dodged Brees and Newton was obviously hurt. And for the most part it has been bad. The last two years our offense generally covered it up.

Agreed. People are upset we aren't running it, and that's understandable, but I'm sure McVay is not stupid enough to neglect it this blatantly. He clearly has zero faith in our shambles of an O-Line to get the run game going.

As for the defense...
Where was the pass rush? Is this on Wade or the players?

I hope Snead is already looking at trades for an OL. If they can get a solid player to shore up the line then I think the offense will improve. As for the defense, I’m not even sure what to say.

But then how to you explain stifling Cleveland who goes on the road today and puts 40 on the Ravens? The D has been pretty good through the first three games, today was clearly and aberration. The O on the other hand ...

Well....the D wasn't good today. One fucking punt by the Bucs. How the fuck do you score 40 points at home and lose? That's not on the O.

Anyone listen to
Mcvay presser ?

I’m telling ya Todd isn’t right ...
He sure was right to stay in the game pass blocking all day picking up blitz after blitz. He sure looked right to drag 5 guys in the end zone. Nothings wrong with Gurley it’s just a easy out for McVay whenever he gets asked why he didn’t run the ball. At least they finally started throwing him the ball

My god there are alot of whiney spoiled little bitches on this site now... You guys never had a bad day? Never made a couple of mistakes and seemed to fuck up everything? You guys need a little dose of reality that the players are also human and will have ups and downs. Get off your high horses and support them even after a tough loss. We were 4-12 just 3 years ago for Christ's sake h

Here’s hoping that we come out angry.

If we had to crap the bed, I’d rather it be against the Bucs than a team in our division.

That said, if we don’t figure out a few things, Thursday is gonna be ugly.

Bro this is the vent thread when we can let our frustrations out don’t mean we don’t still have faith in this team and this Qb and coach. This is literally what this thread is for

Whit had 3 holding calls so clearly Hav was not the only problem.

The entire OL was a problem. The entire D was a problem. Goff was a problem. But Havenstein directly caused three different TOs with his poor play and lack of awareness. The first INT was caused by Barrett hitting Goff's arm as he threw because Havenstein got planted on his ass. The third INT was caused by Havenstein running out to block for a screen (we didn't call a screen) and bringing Barrett out with him underneath the flat route we were running. The fumble TD by Suh was caused by Havenstein getting embarrassed by Barrett's spin move.

Now, that third INT was a total clusterfuck. McVay didn't get the play in one time, and nobody seemed to have any idea what was happening. But we weren't running a screen. Havenstein not knowing the play killed any chance of success.
