What set those apart (and provided separation from the Colts) is that dark navy blue. Love it. Would like to see it someday, in fact, in either throwbacks or with the yellow.
Of course I love those old blue and yellow unis, but even they would have looked even better if the blue matched that dark navy blue on the helmets.
I didn't really like them, but they weren't as hideous as the blueberries. Plus, we usually won in bone, and lost in blueberries.
These are just so fucking bad-ass.
Nevermind, my coffee just kicked in and I realized it means sun since the jerseys are yellow.
The constant comparison and complaint that the 64-72 Deacon, Merlin, Roman's are "too close" to the Colts uniforms is a lazy criticism, in my humble opinion.
Only so many primary colors that are top tier to go around. Teams are gonna have the same colors.
The 64-72's look great, always have, and I NEVER think of the Colts when I see them.

I wasn't a fan of the bone but I tolerated them. Mentioned they reminded me of our off-white HS practice pants in Hawaii with all the faded red dirt stains. I still hate black just to have black (okay navy-almost-black) those are the worst. But every time these jersey threads (pun intended ) come up it's clear there are camps for or against everything.

I'll give more than honorable mention... Romero was the best joker with Ledger a really close 2nd. Jack as much as I love the guy, his joker was corny. The lines they fed him were pretty bad. On first watch I liked him, but can't rewatch more than once because of the cringy dialogue and other flaws like Keaton's limited mobility. You could call Romero corny because the villains back then all used generic lines like "get um!!!" but he was more comic booky which I give a pass to. I'm fine with Ledger #1 and Romero a close 2nd too.
