While Aaron Donald and his camp work on a new contract with the Los Angeles Rams, the defensive tackle made another offseason decision to further grow his brand.

Appearing in the I Am Athlete Podcast, Donald revealed that he has joined Kanye West’s Donda Sports along with his wife. The Rams superstar shared his reason for the decision to switch agencies, all while highlighting his excitement on what they can do beyond just football.

“It was an opportunity that came to us, me and [my wife], and it made sense. Hearing the whole spectrum of what they were going to be bringing, the whole family atmosphere that they got in Donda Sports. Not just me, but my wife being a part of that. For me it was a no-brainer,” the defensive maestro said, via TMZ.

“I think it’s a helluva opportunity to open up a lot of different doors and a lot of different things outside of football that I wanna be involved in, that I wanna do, that my wife wanna do. So to be a part of that, and be one of the best first athletes to be a part of that, it’s pretty dope. We’re excited about it, and we’re gonna see where this thing goes.”

Of course one of the biggest questions about the Aaron Donald-Kanye West partnership is whether they’ll be creating custom cleats together. While the Rams vet said nothing has been finalized, he did share that they are “talking” about it.

Getting a big star like Donald is certainly huge for Donda Sports. However, it is definitely set to benefit Donald as well as he taps into the wide reach and influence of Kanye in the entertainment industry and outside football.

Antonio Brown is joining the ranks of Kanye West’s new sports endeavor. On Monday, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer confirmed he joined Donda Sports as its president as he posted the $2.2 million invoice of VIP and suite tickets to Sunday’s Super Bowl, which he says will be used to invite “kids with their families to the game.”

“As President, it was important to me to book the Donda Suite for this year’s SUPERBOWL LVI. This is a game meant to be watched together,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is the love and unity we need to push. THIS IS FOR THE KIDS, OUR NEXT GENERATION!!!”

Brown’s post comes a week after Hollywood Unlocked shared a press release from Donda Sports where Brown was announced as a new member of the organization, meant to provide “professional and wellness support” to athletes.

It is a bit late now in the offseason to put him on the market. Rams are in a tough spot, where the defense won't be good enough without him. Moving him would probably kill hopes of title defense, but if he retires it is even worse.

At this point I would probably pull a Belichick and take offers from AFC teams on him. Draft defense next offseason and keep rolling.

If he retires hold onto his rights and trade him next offseason. Because he will miss the game and return.

If any player has earned a 100% guaranteed contract it is AD. But it should have some kind of retirement clause, to protect the team if he decides to retire before playing out his contract. As far as numbers, I would hope that the full guaranteed contract would be more attractive than a huge number that is intended to be voided before ever paying out the full terms.

Technically AD is under contract for 3 more years. In order for the Rams to afford to increase his money, they would have to tear up his existing deal and increase the guaranteed money but basically limit the impact of the new contract on the CAP. Why I said there is likely to be a roster move is because they barely have enough to sign their rookie class. AD currently has a cap hit of $26.7M. If they raise it to $30M they can't sign their draft class.

They would have to do likewise with Kupp only probably spreading it out over 5 more years to give them space to sign OBJ and the draft class. Whether or not they can trade for an edge would hinge on three things. One, is how much cap they can clear with Kupp's contract. The structure of OBJ's deal and the deal offered to a new edge. That's a whole lot of moving parts.

Extending A'Shawn Robinson could clear around $5M, enough to get OBJ under contract with an incentive laden first year due to his injury. If Jefferson is included in any trade that clears another $1.5M. Even then I'm not sure it will be enough to get that edge. That's why the only player they could move that is tying up a lot of cap is Havenstein. They should try to move him via trade and make Jackson the starter at RT. That would clear $9.5M off the books.

Havenstein is gone after this year. I would rather have an edge long term than a 4th round comp pick. In fact, they can trade him to the Chargers who need a RT. Storm Norton was a disaster last year for them. Get a 3rd round pick for Havenstein which is better than they would get via comp.

Whatever they do they would need to clear a lot more cap than most people realize if they want to bring in a true edge to complement Floyd. Hollins could backup Floyd and Lewis could backup whoever they get to play edge.

Why do you want Havenstein traded or say that he's gone? I gotta disagree there. He's a legit starter for us and McVay lives the guy. You don't get rid of quality tackles (left or right side). Big Rob has been a rock for us. Honestly would be as dumb as when we got rid of Saffold.

I read the same articles about Donda/Kanye and I didn't see any indication that he had replaced his real agent (Todd France). I think this is just about nonfootball marketing (commercials, custom cleats, etc).

I don't think we have to worry about Les Snead having to negotiate AD's next contract with AB (or any other part of Kanye's clownshow- no offense to Erica Donald).
