I'd go the other direction. Reynolds is on a rookie contract. I'd trade Robert Woods. Obviously, we'd all prefer to move Cooks over Woods, but his contract and coming off a down year make that highly unlikely. With Higbee's breakout and increased 12 personnel, it makes sense to trade one of our top 3 WRs. Kupp is off limits for obvious reasons, and I don't see Cooks bringing back anything of worth right now. Thus, Woods is the guy most likely to get us decent compensation (I think a 3rd round pick plus something else) in a trade.

I hope this is just hypothetical, or are you actually advocating that even with an improved OL you lose Woods to keep Everett in order to increase 12 personnel use ? You would choose this over waiting a year to move Cooks to better benefit our CAP ?

.

I would be pissed if the rams moved on from woods.

However if he asks to be traded so he can be paid his actual worth then i guess I'd have to be ok with it.

George Kittle is my biatch! ~ HIGBEAST

always will say, when Everett was drafted Mcvay(Snead) traded back !!

The Rams got John Johnson for free, even if Everett wasn’t there George Kittle was !!

I liked Reynolds & Copper Kupp. Just think if Kittle was added on ??

George Kittle ran a 50’yard dash. Never have seen such power in a 40 yard dash at the combines. To think he is from Iowa & of course the best blocking TE in the NFL.

Higbee being drafted by Fisher(Snead) was a steal. He had to sit out an off season because of injury, plus his court case that he needed up settling.

Goff & Higbee being roommates there rookie year & now both signed to mega deals have a bond for years to come. Really nice to see the connections coming through on the field.

I am sticking with trading Reynolds. I like Woods too much.

there is no way Robert Woods is going anyway !! He as much as Whitworth are the heart and soul of this team !!

The Rams just need to continue to build there depth. It is not about spending.

What the F%$< is wrong with some of you?

Never in all my life as a Rams fan have I ever been subjected to so much fawning over 49ers douchebag players.
And IDGAflyingF if its Joe Montana or Jerry Rice or Roger Craig and I sure as hell don't want to hear about some young pricks who have had 1 winning season. Debo and Jimmy and George and all the other guys on their D-line are fine players... but that's IT. Nobody has done shit. Nobody there could even sniff Donalds jock without choking on the scent of real HOF talent.

Look, I get it. You're soo objective. You are basically neutral like a professional analyst and your not blinded by your fandom like the rest of us simpletons. Good for you. But we simpletons are rabid RAMS fans who HATE the fucking whiners amost as much as we love the horns.
It's bad enough to see them in the play-offs while our team is done, but to read constant praise for them by our own brethren?
That's just adding insult to injury.

Go Rams!!
Fuck the Whiners!!!

I am advocating that Woods is the most expendable trade chip that we have who will bring back something of worth. In that vein, I would be open to trading him to improve the team.

What do you think you're going to get from Reynolds? It's not much. Reynolds is worth more to us than another team.

Anyone advocating trading or not re-signing Woods doesn't understand "core players". Robert Woods is part of the heart and soul of this Rams team.
No one is more a "team player" in the NFL than Woods.

Woods is a phenomenal person and a true team player. I love the guy. But he's not the core of the team. Donald and Ramsey are the core on defense. Goff is the core on offense. Woods is one of three 1000+ yard WRs we have. But now, we have a fourth WR (Reynolds) showing promise, a TE who broke out and became a legitimate weapon (Higbee), and a second TE who showed a lot of flashes. We're in a position where we have other needs that could be filled. Woods and Kupp are our two best trade chips of our weapons, and I'm not giving up Kupp.

Good/great teams have to make hard decisions. The question is who is expendable. Would I hate seeing Woods go? Yes. Could we succeed without him? Yes.

I agree on Reynolds, not so much the rest ...

And here I am at 35 still wishing we had Ernie and Roland...ahaha

I said a second and Reynolds to move up in the draft to get the best available center.

I should probably add "if they are within reach and expected to go at that spot".

I don't want any reach picks though. Only go for them if they feel the center at that spot is an improvement in their system.

What sort of valuation do you think other teams are going to give Reynolds? Because I doubt it's high enough to go much of anywhere in the second round.

I'd trade Woods. I get why people don't want to; despite the mock draft that had me trade him, I actually love the guy. But he's simply the biggest trade chip we can give, aside from a Fowler tag-and-trade. And Reynolds deserves the chance to step up. And this wide receiver class is probably the deepest in years.

You don't trade your best players for draft picks, which you don't really know how they will pan out in the NFL. Hell using your logic that might as well trade Donald along with Woods. If they want to trade someone for picks please let it be Cooks.

Please don't use that strawman. Donald is a future HOFer, a perennial DPotY candidate. Woods, as much as I like him, doesn't approach that.

If given the choice, I'd trade Cooks, but there's nobody who's going to trade a high pick for a smallish receiver who has a history of concussions and a huge contract, to boot, whereas I could get a high third/mid-second for Woods and have Kupp, Reynolds, a drafted wideout, and Cooks - if he's healthy - get snaps.

I will reiterate: this wideout class is one of the best I've seen in years. Guys like Brandon Aiyuk and Henry Ruggs - who could go in the first round in any other class - will be second round picks. Mid-second round picks. It would be foolish to not take advantage of that kind of class.
