Suprising at this time. Maybe these otas had something to do with it and maybe the rams said see what you can get on the market while we work things out. May end up back with the rams at some point this season

He definitely won't be unemployed for long; some team is going to look at him to be a potential starter.

That leaves Rozeboom and Hummel as your backups. Not particularly what I'd want, but at least you wouldn't lose them.

Hmmm, JR said “deals” in place locking in this week. With an ‘S’. ADs deal lowers the cap, so that one is not an issue. Kupp likely could. But is there a hint here of OBJ?

That's what I caught too. Not sure what that means in particular.

When you add in the salary it makes sense. Would have liked to keep him but guys like this that the coaches feel are easily replaceable by people making $2 million less aren't long for this roster unless they're starters. Howard has had a hard time staying healthy for these last few years too.

Hate to see him go, but if they need the cap space to finish deal, I get it.

Will always remember he played great in the NFCC and came down with the pick to seal the deal. Thanks, Howard.

They are converting Jake Gervase from safety to ILB. He's a lot faster and quicker than Howard. Howard had issues with situational awareness. Perhaps the most glaring was him trying to run after a game-winning INT. Gaines had to chase him down and tackle him to make sure he didn't fumble. That is unacceptable, as a former Charger fan, I've seen that too many times. After he made the INT I was screaming at the TV for him to get down. It wasn't the first time his head wasn't in the game. It's why he wasn't the starter at MLB.

The cap savings will probably allow them to sign OBJ.

I said before they have to squeeze out every dime possible because next yrs cap will be a mess and they have a lot of young players hitting FA.

Now I’m really worried about our edge! Lewis definitely isn’t going to stay healthy for 20 games this next year

Bobby Wagner missing 2 games in 7 seasons might have something to do with this. Rams are reloading for a repeat. All the extensions and fine tuning to make one more splash move, most likely OBJ.
