I wasn't aware of cooks concussion history. I thought it was only in the superbowl where a dirty shot took him out.

Gurley was paid in 2018, same as cooks.

They both made the contracts look like good investments in 2018. Unfortunately the injuries made the contracts bad in 2019. Shit happens.

.
I still can't believe that POS was thrown out of the game! smh

I corrected that statement to be pre instead of post SB sorry. I did think we should of used either Franchise or transitional or something tag for him at the time.

Guess it's water under the bridge now and we are stuck paying the Credit Card down this year!o_O

Any chance your able to update us on our cap post Cooks deal?
We're currently $5.3 million over the cap. The result of trading Cooks and cutting Gurley in huge payroll years for each of those contracts.

Normally I would be still going nuts o_Oon trading for a DB utilizing two first round selections. But I have watched Jalen Ramsey for many seasons @ FSU & with Jags......even with me being a serious conservative for maintaining Ram draft selections @ all costs can easily justify for trading for Ramsey.

IT's my opinion that JR's NFL DB skills & abilities are as good as any in the NFL today! He can play any DB position in an instant without a drop in his level of performance he might be the best deep safety ever in the NFL if he were to play that post. JR is only 25 yrs old & his best years are yet to come. Play him Pay him & let him do what he does...the payoff will be worth it.

I could argue this 2020 Rams team can do without Gurley, Cooks, Fowler, Littleton, GZ, NRC & Matthews but going into the 2020 season without a DB like JR would be a complete disaster for this Ram team.

Ramsey and Donald are both considered among the best at their position. Hekker is too.

Toss in Goff’s status, age, and continued development, Cooper Kupp... this team has about as SOLID of YOUNG core you could hope for.

Yeah, Cooks/Gurley bites.... but most teams would trade foundations with us.

We retool every year, all teams do.

:helmet: Championship! :helmet:

Yeah when he decides to play, he faked a back injury in Jacksonville to not play. You don't win with guys like this. His attitude of ME will never set up a team atmosphere. Guy hasn't inked a deal with us yet which I guarantee they been trying to do but he wants crazy stuff I'm sure. Hearing conversations coming from Ramsey's mentor Deion that happened directly reaffirm this guy going to be a POS to deal with. Breaking the bank, being up against the cap, and costing multiple players and a team is not worth a HOF player. Not even close. We'll just a team with a few studs and nothing else.
I see your point but the entire team in Jax wants out bc they were getting screwed financially by Coughlin and the organization. Although I can see him being a problem in the future if we dont right this ship quick. They took a gamble that Ramsey would help them get to the playoffs, it failed and now they have to reap what they sow.

Trading him doesn't make much sense right now, he's very valuable to our defense, he's a trash talker, but doesn't appear to be an issue in the room or anything like that. Passionate player, someone who'll do just about whatever he can to win.

Plus the value that we would fetch would be far less than what we traded for him, and he can essentially be used as our "first round" pick this year, which means we're getting an elite blue chip player, not a bad haul.

Yeah because scotty linehan and Steve spagnuolo had team first players and three pillars bullshit how many super bowls did we win ?

We have the best corner in the game and we have the player in the game on our D we build round those beasts and let the O do their thing and if he ones hold out franchise tag his ass for the next two years untill you get a decent a return

Cooper Kupp is awesome but Robert Woods is the best receiver on the Rams roster. He may be the most underrated WR in the NFL. He's a go to guy. He's tough. He's smart. He's one of the best blockers in the NFL at the position. And he's humble.

Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Tyler Higbee, Jared Goff, Donald, Ramsey, JJ and soon Rapp will join that group. A great group to build around and tweak every year.

I'm saying this right now, and I guarantee Snead/McVay have talked about if not actively looking for a trade partner to get Ramsey the hell out of dodge.

I don't know if Snead and McVay are thinking about trading Ramsey. I have wondered about it as well as wondered if the Rams haven't made the trade last year. I've questioned the move when it happened. It would have been better to have a deal in place when they made the trade. It seemed like a high price to play both in draft capital and cap-wise. I haven't seen enough of Ramsey to rate him as the top CB in the NFL. I hope he is as good as many here believe he is. I don't see a team trading for Ramsey by giving two first-round picks back to the Rams. I think the Rams defense will be greatly improved this year.
