I had to laugh at how much that sounded like a smokescreen statement. GM's only need a laptop and a phone, doesn't matter if they are at 30,000 feet or in Bumfuk Egypt as long as they're near a cell tower and have WIFI and a working battery.

Three teams we would love to see trade for AJ Green

The Cincinnati Bengals are one the worst teams in the league this year. They and the Miami Dolphins are the only winless teams this season. But unlike the Dolphins, who have made moves to build for the future, the Bengals have remained quiet on the trade front even though they have a big piece they could sell.

The Bengals have reportedly told teams they will not trade A.J. Green. Green hasn’t played a down in the NFL this year; he’s currently recovering from ankle surgery but may play in Week 10. With his contract ending after this season, and the team’s apparently directionless future, the Bengals should look to sell him for what they can get.

Here are three teams we would love to see Green traded to.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens lead the AFC North again this year, thanks in large part to Lamar Jackson. Jackson has passed for over 1,600 yards and rushed for 576 yards this season. While these seem like strong numbers, Week 7 against Seattle was a tough game for Jackson. He threw the ball just 20 times for 143 yards playing without top receiver Hollywood Brown. What Jackson lacks is an elite receiver to throw to. If the Ravens want to keep pace with teams like the New England Patriots or the San Francisco 49ers this year, getting a guy like A.J. Green would help immensely. Of course, whether they could actually talk a division opponent into trading a player like Green is an entirely different story.

Green Bay Packers

Wide receiver Davante Adams went down with a foot injury in Week 4. He hasn’t played since, though he could be back in Week 9. While the Packers have been fine without Adams, could you imagine how dynamite their offense would be if they got both Adams and Green within the next few weeks? The receiver position is one the Packers have lacked in depth for and Green would be an incredible addition.

Philadelphia Eagles

At 4-4, the Philadelphia Eagles are in second place in the NFC East. Carson Wentz has been inconsistent this year, and so have the team’s wide receivers. Alshon Jeffrey has put up big numbers in some games (like 10 catches for 76 yards a touchdown in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings), but he has flopped in a couple match ups (two catches for just 38 yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8). Nelson Agholor has been dealing with serious drops. A more consistent receiver like A.J. Green could help Wentz perform better and possibly propel Philadelphia into the playoffs.

Maybe it’s on the other thread but Seattle acquired a veteran safety from Detroit last week. I don’t have time to find the link. Detroit players were not happy because he was a captain and well liked.
 
I would be interested in Williams with the right deal, but it doesn't sound like the Redskins will let him go for a return that I would feel comfortable with. I do wonder if the Rams have a 2nd rounder on the table for him right now. It wouldn't surprise me given the connection with McVay, the fact the Rams only really have a 2nd rounder to offer, and the need on the line. However, I'm in the camp that the Rams don't need Trent Williams to improve their OLine. I think getting a decent starter/depth is all that's really required. What about Alex Redmond, Daryl Williams, Ty Sambrailo, or Brandon Shell? I’m just trying to think of players who are available, and who offer some decent quality depth at the very least.

Yeah there were reports of a lot of locker room tension after the trade. Quandre Diggs is not only a good player and needed but he's a locker room leader or was for the Lions.

I don’t see the Rams making a play for Williams. It doesn’t work short term as we have Whitworth and it doesn’t work long term as a replacement for Whitworth because of Williams age.

The ultimate trade for me would be Cooks for AJ Green. Get a hungry Green for a Super Bowl push and get rid of Cooks for salary relief as his concussion issues aren’t making me think he’s going to live up to his contract. Of course I don’t think the Bengals would ever go for that.

Philly has put a nice offensive lineman up for grabs.

This is the guy I'd like. Can play all along the line and holds up well when called to play.

I don't see the Redskins waiting for the Rams next available first round pick. They would have to wait for the guy to graduate junior high, high school and college before that pick comes around.

Snead is a master of trade negotiations and not attached to first round draft picks. In baseball, it's common to make trades for players to be named later. Maybe Snead is working on a deal for a player-yet-to-be-born.

Not surprising the bengals are not trading Green. They have an head coach who is the OC basically who wants to throw the ball.
Washington? Well, why create another hole? The interim HC is the OL coach. I expected Williams back when he took over.
Anyway, most teams can make a reasonable case they are just a couple of players away from being competitive.
The Bears should just wait to sign Bridgewater this off season instead of giving up a ton of picks for Ryan.

Somebody with the Jets, maybe the head coach, was not happy that they signed him in the off-season. Did the GM get fired early in the year? I think there is a connection.

You’re absolutely right about Bell not being the problem in NY. The problem is Gase and Shurmur. Those 2 are out of their league. The jets and Giants aren’t going anywhere until they dump those two.

I wonder what it'd cost for AJ Green. Because Id love to have him in horns!

Cooks looks to be out for a bit being that he's had four concussions since the Super Bowl LII
