I think he will play on $6 million this year.

But he very much might not do it unless he has an extension.. which, he's earned.

His base salary will stay at $6m for this season seeing the extension will begin next season but he will get a huge signing bonus.

I'm thinking he sits out and I wouldn't blame him. These NFL rookie mandatory contracts are BS especially since the NFL career span for players averages 3 years.

We will know soon enough.

The details of McDuffie's contract extension are available on both OTC and Spotrac for any one interested.

The good news ... for the Rams ... is that his 2026 cap number actually comes down by almost $3M from the previous 5th-year-option amount of $13.6M to the current amount of $10.8M.

Want to acknowledge (once more) that both @PhillyRam and @DzRams were right last week when we debated the 2026 cap implications of McDuffie's extension (signing was announced but not the numbers).

I mistakenly thought that the 5th-year-option just carried-over but its not that simple.

Essentially, the 5th year option is added but the immediate cap-impact (2026) is completely re-worked.

When this trade was first announced the seahag fans claimed it was a desperate reaction to Smith NJigba. No, it was a desperate reaction to the rest of the schedule. Our corners were bad. Simple as that. Now they are much better. They were a big reason we aren't defending champs. Sam Darnold is not elite. But they made him look like it.

100%. It was a serious weakness in our D.
Here's hoping we got the ILB problems sorted too. And ST's.
Ugghh. absolutely h8 seeing the ugly seahags get ringed over Stafford & the Rams. But, to win the SB you gotta win all 3 phases.

Funny thing about Njigba Forbes actually did a pretty good job covering him. Now when he’s not covered by Forbes he’s going to have to get past McDuffie and Watson.
