I don't view it as tanking. They are playing with 2nd, 3rd, and fifth string players on the OL. Their QB until now was treated as their #3 QB. This is a very important talent show to see who can play and who goes.
IMO Edwards, Evans, and Kolone are probably gone after this year. Hopkins must emerge as a viable starting caliber TE, but I think TE will be on the table in the 3rd round.
Morris needs to play Rochell and Durant because IMO neither Hill or Long is probably going to be on the roster after the season. For the same reason, he needs to play Lake as he and Scott project as the Rams starting safeties. This is the time to give developmental players game experience. Winning isn't important as finding out who to keep and where to get new bodies.
In Perkins, they have their backup QB and they control his rights for the next two years after which he could become trade bait. This isn't the right system for him. I still believe that Bryce has a higher ceiling than Kyler who is all he will ever be right now, a pouting spoiled loser. This arm strength thing with Perkins is exactly the same thing I heard about Drew Brees who proved that it definitely can be improved. In most systems, if the QB can consistently get it out to 20-25 yards with velocity and especially accuracy that is good enough. Very rarely does a QB have the time to sit there and wait for a 40-50 yd pattern to develop. Speaking of Kyler he's making excuses for his poor play. He's claiming it's not due to his lack of film study but Kliff's poor play design. LMFAO Kyler is a coach killing QB. Perkins is better than Mayfield who still can read beyond his second read. When given the time Bryce is showing progress in going through his progressions. Being behind Stafford will really help Perkins develop.
