1,000%. Coaches included. One of my biggest gripes is the lack of fire and killer instinct from the coaches on down.
Ahyup! Was just thinking the same thing. The coaches need to use this as an opportunity to exorcise some of their demons. The play calling when this team was healthy was predictable at best.

McVays offense hasn't scared anyone since late 2018 as far as I can tell. Defensive studs and some wizardry at the QB/WR positions are what propelled them to last years chip.

I don't view it as tanking. They are playing with 2nd, 3rd, and fifth string players on the OL. Their QB until now was treated as their #3 QB. This is a very important talent show to see who can play and who goes.

IMO Edwards, Evans, and Kolone are probably gone after this year. Hopkins must emerge as a viable starting caliber TE, but I think TE will be on the table in the 3rd round.

Morris needs to play Rochell and Durant because IMO neither Hill or Long is probably going to be on the roster after the season. For the same reason, he needs to play Lake as he and Scott project as the Rams starting safeties. This is the time to give developmental players game experience. Winning isn't important as finding out who to keep and where to get new bodies.

In Perkins, they have their backup QB and they control his rights for the next two years after which he could become trade bait. This isn't the right system for him. I still believe that Bryce has a higher ceiling than Kyler who is all he will ever be right now, a pouting spoiled loser. This arm strength thing with Perkins is exactly the same thing I heard about Drew Brees who proved that it definitely can be improved. In most systems, if the QB can consistently get it out to 20-25 yards with velocity and especially accuracy that is good enough. Very rarely does a QB have the time to sit there and wait for a 40-50 yd pattern to develop. Speaking of Kyler he's making excuses for his poor play. He's claiming it's not due to his lack of film study but Kliff's poor play design. LMFAO Kyler is a coach killing QB. Perkins is better than Mayfield who still can read beyond his second read. When given the time Bryce is showing progress in going through his progressions. Being behind Stafford will really help Perkins develop.

Unfortunately with Perkins, I have seen him do lollipop throws where it barely gets to the receiver. You might be right that arm strength can be improved but right now, he does not have the arm strenght to be an NFL quality starting quarterback. Right now he would be a good option QB who comes in from time to time as a different play style. Would love to see him as an option running back that Stafford pitches to from time to time.

yeah some of your takes are spot on... but i dont agree about perkins

He doesn't have the throwing ability to be an nfl QB - and as an athlete he is okay but not that explosive.

I do not believe arm strength can be improved. We have seen Perkins ceiling and it is not good, although he is elusive and can run. Can he be an effective back up and win a few games when Stafford it out? Sure. They don't have anyone else IMO (sorry wolford).

You can't tank when your team has this many injuries. The Rams aren't going to be purposely bad. They are just going to be bad. I'd like to think that professionals that are getting paid wouldn't want to loose for a draft pick that might not even pan out. I could be wrong.

The Colts sucked for Luck. THAT was a tank job. This is just a badly depleted, top heavy team. When you lose your best players on a team like this, it looks.... Like this.

The idea that Perkins is an NFL level QB.. yikes.

Wolford is your backup.. but hopefully they bring in a draft pick next year who has real potential. The bummer is that means you have to carry 3 QBs.. and because of $$.. I think they return Wolford.

Will Wolford actually be able to play a complete game? He needs to be smarter about the hits he takes.
Perkins at least adds a dimension to the ground game, is more durable, and may improve with playing time.

Detroit fans must be over the moon.

Well Les Snead & Jeff Fisher sure F’d up when The Rams had a forever pick.

If The Rams we’re smart they would have traded there #2 pick for at least 2 first Rnd picks with say the Vikings(Bills) when they wanted Sammy Watkins.

Can’t say to much about The Rams own picks

Couple of thoughts:
- Rams are too far removed from a playoff appearance to worry about anything but evaluating and preparing for next year
- Nothing personal but Wolford should not be put in a position to start again for the Rams but his below average passing skills are better than Perkins bottom of the barrel passing skills. And they need someone this season to help evaluate the remaining WRs/RBs
-Nothing personal but Perkins is a wild cat QB only. He will never be able to carry a passing game
- Play vets at a minimum to avoid further injury - that’s the smart play
- injuries ravaged the OL but the IOL was not going to be adequate this year to support a run game even with 0 injuries. - admit it snd figure it out
- Kupp is a great WR1. Robinson or Jefferson can be decent WR3. Atwell can stretch the field. Need a WR1B or at least a WR2.
- Higbee, Floyd, Hill, Long , Rapp in coverage, Note are just not cutting it - figure it out
- Need to find. Bruiser RB for short yardage
- Find CBs that can apply tighter coverage - it’s the defenses Achilles heal
