Was watching the McVay show.... didn't even bother to ask if Stafford was going to play. Wolford or Perkins.

You can tell by the innuendos and talking around things - its over.

time to see how the young guys can play.

I don't agree with tanking for the sake of draft picks, etc. But I do agree with shutting down veterans that don't need to be out there or limiting them to preserve them and playing youth that you need to find out if they can be relied on next year.

Having an early 2nd is a bit like having a first.
We talking another Tutu Atwell ... Cam Akers ... Taylor Rapp ... Gerald Everett ... Lamarcus Joyner ... Brian Quick ... Isaiah Pead??? ... Don't tell me! ... I want to be Surprised!!!

Just Kidding ... It's been a Brutal season. Jefferson, Havenstein and Janoris Jenkins were also 2nd rounders.

Brad Holmes is licking his chops as that 1st round pick he got from the Rams is going to be a top 5 pick the way things are going.

With AD having a high ankle sprain it's time to shut him down as well. Play Jonah Williams or Hoecht at 3T. Hoecht looked better than Lewis or Hollins as I suspected he would. He's got speed and strength. He needs work on his technique because until now he's played mostly inside. Williams could be a monster inside.

Time to play Thomas either at LT or LG because both Arcuri and Skura suck. Aboushi is only slightly better than the aforementioned. But the left side was a swinging gate. They should grab another OL off a PS and play Thomas and whoever.

Tanking is a dirty word but it's basically time to develop the guys who wouldn't really get looks if everyone was healthy. Which means losses. They need to recoup as many role players as possible from that group.

The Rams will be developing young players while the superstar veterans nurse their injuries until next season. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

My conspiracy is that they are putting the veterans on IR to give them the rest of the season off. It's time to develop our depth.

I don't think it's a conspiracy.. I think there's a decent amount of transparency.

Several of the injuries are the kinds players *could* come back from.. I'm talking about Kupp and Donald specifically.. and they would if there were any real stakes. But why risk it?

Same for Stafford.. BUT... with Stafford, neurological injuries are different and I'm just not sure what the future holds.

I'd actually be fine w tanking the rest of the season. If you ain't first your last. Based on that, giving young players real playing exp is huge and could give the Rams a chance to really evaluate for next year

I don't disagree.

I just think if you throw a bunch of young players out there together at the same time.. they may not actually learn much except how to get beaten.

Tanking is calling dumb plays on offense and playing soft on defense. Research is completely different. If they improve their draft position in the process, that's just an added plus. If they're accused of tanking so what? Do what's best for the team in the long run.

I do agree. Which is why I think we're seeing some players on the field in small sample sizes.

I just don't understand why everyone is so quick to say that Tutu Atwell is a bust. The man can't put himself on the field and he can't throw to himself.

He makes big plays when the ball is thrown to him and has displayed elite speed.

Give the guy a break. To throw him in so early in with those other second round whiffs, is going too far.

This is the fear I have of what happens to Tutu when hit hard by someone

I have rarely 'gone too far' in life.

I hope you're right, and Atwell turns-out to be a player.

All I can say is, if this season doesn't light a fire under them to come back with more intensity and focus next year, then the full rebuild should begin.

1,000%. Coaches included. One of my biggest gripes is the lack of fire and killer instinct from the coaches on down.
