Like the Maton trade. Getting two interesting pitchers and international bonus money for a reliever signed basically off the scrap heap? We should be doing this way more often.

I’m VERY disappointed that we didn’t tear the foundation down to the studs (Donovan, Nootbaar, Burleson, and Romero all should’ve been dealt.). And FUCK Nolan Arenado for nixing the Asterisks deal when he included them on his list in the offseason. Greedy, selfish piece of shit.

Cardinals, please lose the remainder of your games, and win the #1 overall pick in the lottery so we can select Roch Cholowsky!

And Alec Burleson with the Silver Slugger for the utility position!!!

...I know it's not much to brag about, but I'm looking for any sort of positives.

Cardinals just dealt Sonny Gray to the Boston Red Sox for Richard Fitts, Brandon Clarke, and either cash considerations or a PTBNL.

Love the deal. Fitts and Clarke bring two more excellent arms into the system, and Fitts will likely start this year along with Liberatore, McGreevy, Pallante and Leahy. We'll see how the roster does, if we add a potential reclamation project for the starting rotation, but I like that we're actually going young (none of the projected starters are over thirty) instead of the shit we did that didn't work.

...Still hoping for a PTBNL for fucking Fedde.

The Cardinals got a Comp A pick!!! And Willson Contreras is willing to waive his no-trade clause! Happy days and happy flights!

Now, let's all hope for either them moving up to #1 in the lottery next week or - at the very least - sticking in the top ten.

Well, it's not all good: lottery fucked us over. We're picking thirteenth when we were the seventh-worst team. Fuck me.

Trade everyone you're not planning on keeping at this point.

Cardinals have signed Dustin May to a one-year contract with a mutual option! Love this move! Zero risk, potentially very high reward.

Now go for Kopech and trade some more players!

WILLSON CONTRERAS HAS BEEN DEALT! I repeat, Willson Contreras has been dealt. Destination is the Boston Red Sox, and we got three interesting right-handed pitchers back in Hunter Dobbins, Yhoiker Fajardo, and Blake Aita, one of them (Fajardo) whom slots in the top ten of our prospect list. And we only picked up eight million of the deal in the first year, so the Red Sox are on the hook for the rest.

All things considered, I think it's a very good deal.

Thats a great deal for the Cardinals. Chaim Bloom is getting revenge on the Red Sox by grabbing all the good prospects.

No offense meant but Contreras blows. Average at best. Your getting Dobbins, who is good not great but showed stretches where he can string alot of quality starts. Fajardo hurts a bit. 95MPH fast ball at 19 years old, lots to grow there. Also has a 15MPH differential on his offspeed stuff. Aita, is meh but you never know.

Red Sox have no clue what they are doing.

Thank you for the insightful feedback, Boston Ram. We also got Brandon Clarke, Richard Fitts, and a potential PTBNL for Gray, so I like both deals.

As far as Contreras goes, he was one of the better defending first basemen this year, and our biggest power bat (only player on our team to hit twenty home runs...which shows you how bad our offense really was). I think he'll be okay in Boston; much shorter field in Fenway than in Busch. Gray, though? Not so sure about; he gave up a ton of homers in Busch, and I don't see that being better in Boston.

Actually like Aita more than most; he's still quite young (was a draft-eligible sophomore in 2024, will turn twenty-three in June of next year) puts a lot of spin on the slider and fastball, and if he gets an offspeed pitch, there might be a starter profile there.

Dobbins is a good option for our starting rotation, but he's been hurt a lot; this is the second time he's torn the same ACL, and he has a Tommy John surgery in his past.

Fajardo is the real prize for us, like you mentioned.

Fitts and Dobbins are very similar. Expect similar results from both. There were stretches were both pitched like aces. Both very good middle of rotation guys...spin rate must be low which is why the dumb ass Red Sox were so willing to move both. If Clarke can command the zone he is your real prize! I love that kids potential. On Aita, I know most of the prospects in our system. This is the first time I have heard his name, so Im not much help here. He was drafted by Bloom, so he must know something.

Thanks for the feedback on Contreras....didnt make me feel any better though :)

Blake Aita was drafted in 2024 by the Red Sox in the sixth round out of Kennesaw State. That was before Bloom's time in Boston, same with Fajardo (who was dealt from the White Sox to the Red Sox before here), which gives me hope that these are not just "friends of Chaim Bloom" trades.

And that's understandable. You have a really good farm system, and I think you won't regret the trade for Contreras. Sonny Gray on the other hand? He was pretty bad with us last year. Didn't get a ton of run support, but I worry about him giving up a lot more homers in Fenway's shorter field; if he's giving up homers in Busch, I don't want to imagine how many he'll give up in Fenway. Fastball looked pretty dead last year as well. Maybe he bounces back, but in his mid-thirties? I don't know.

If he gets his stuff under control, he could be a really good signing for you.

For some reason, he just did not have it this year.
