Okay... ROD-BOT called it something else, whatever.

Of recent weeks, we’ve started word and thread games over the offseason weekends...

So...building off the casual offseason vibe; The Conversation Thread.

Think a thread, that goes like a “Chat Room”.

So, why not use the chat room? Well, this isn’t exactly in realtime... Just chime in like you‘ve dropped by a friends house.

It’s random chat. Post whatever. Ask a question. Tell us what your up to. Comment. BYOB.

Good thread idea, or bad, it’s a thread... and we are here to make them!

Tomorrow we’ll move this to off topic. But for now... It’s Saturday night!

So... what you up to?

Drizzle here. 10 degrees, 50F.

Beer. Tunes.

Anybody using this lockdown for any projects?

I got this song on play and hooked on it.

It’s just gone 11pm here, I’ve got the radio on here and it’s playing You’re gorgeous by Babybird, remember that one? I’ve sank a few cans of Heineken and participated in a quiz via WhatsApp video with my Mum and Dad and brother which we do every Saturday. That’s about it really, fucking lockdown!

In the 80°s here in So Cal.
Going drink some cold beers tonight, order some food and play some darts.

I just spachcocked a chicken and seasoned it, but that's for tomorrow night. I want the salt to work its magic, uncovered in the fridge. Tomorrow it will be smoked.

Devils lettuce, steak, putting a rub on meat for tomorrow, dishes, and Star Wars are whats on my schedule today.

Already finished my grocery store run, had a nice special on pork, so I'll be doing 9lbs worth on Tuesday to make some carnitas. Otherwise, not a damn thing. I've already adjusted how I've been teaching my students and because I'm such a G I've figured out how to both significantly reduce my workload, while significantly increasing the abilities of my students to learn.. At least in terms of those who actually care, those who don't are just fucking around as usual, but it's their money, whatever blows their skirt up.

My days now have a lot more free time, other than running into the lab real quick for experiment updates, so that's been nice.

What grub did you order? You any good at darts? What’s your favourite double?

My daughter is a grade school teacher. 2nd year. Crazy how they have to finish the semester and year, similar to how you describe.

When is the semester done there?

Mid June, we're on the quarter system. The last day of classes is June 5th, and the last day of finals is a week later on the 12th.

Right now they're at least hoping that we'll have in person classes in the fall, which is an upgrade from what they thought before, so here's to hoping. If not, I've figured out how I like doing this (my colleagues have been flipping out because they refuse to adapt to the shit that is Zoom), so I'll be okay, but I'd much rather be in person if possible, so much more fun. Without the joy of throwing screaming foam balls at students to explain the Doppler effect life just just seems more dull.

I’m from a very large Family...10 brothers 2 sisters. We have lost 2 of them over the years, 11 of us left. One of the fun things about a large Family is that as it spreads out, some of your down line relatives make a name for themselves. Here are 2 examples:
Nephew has hit song, Pumped up Kicks.
One of my cousins’ son’s is on Petey’s staff, came with him from SC. Fun Stuff! Cheers!!!
