Yeah, a cultural issue. Look at the Rams. Do you ever see any kind of drama coming their organization. Players? Coaches? Then look at the 49ers. Every offseason some sort of drama.
Has been a couple instances of stuff like that but they don't put up with it.

Ask Desean Jackson, Cam Akers and Ernerst Jones about it.

Lynch has been living off his drafts from 2017-2019. They had some franchise defining drafts those years all though they still sucked in rounds 1 and 2 mostly. They nailed a few 3rd and beyond though. Not sure what happened in 2020 and beyond. Wonder if they had some important scouting talent get promotions with other teams around that time?
Thats an excellent point.
They didn’t build that perennial contender roster by accident. They have just had a problem restocking it. That’s the hard part.
Purdy saved their bacon. The guy who was supposed to be leading the charge is now on, what, his 3rd team? That crappy pick should have buried them—and got some people fired.

So where are all the geniuses who built that 9er program? They must not still be there.
Otherwise, they just got lucky.

Want to send Niner fans into a meltdown on socials? Point out the Rams aren't far off with 4 NFL championships.

Sure because whiner fans think the championships only existed when they had a good run. But at this point, does any here beat their chest because the Rams were champs in 1951? Same goes for the whiners titles in the 80's. Many of their fans were even born yet.
Exactly, guys. This is the position I always take now:
When was that? (When the 9ers were winning those titles)
If we’re gonna talk ancient history…you know NFL titles weren’t always called SBs. They used to be just NFL titles

The Rams have 4

Quick question:
Were the 9ers wearing leather helmets then?

Shanahan's only good at the Xs and Os, not leadership, and Lynch's demeanor doesn't help. Too many Niners players are whiny or disgruntled in public. It's a culture issue.

I don't really care that Aiyuk went AWOL. But seriously, did he lose the desire to play because he had too much money? It's hard to imagine he forfeited all that cash unless there's a lot more to the story than the whiners are letting out.

It is super weird. He’s losing money, in all likelihood.

They have a top offensive mind drawing it up, which allows them to win with subpar QBs. Problem for them is they're going to need a dominant defense in order to win it all with that strategy. And building a dominant defense is not easy when you're constantly needing to replace drama on the roster not to mention their aging core.

Also I don't think Purdy is bad, but if he was our QB you can bet McVay would be looking for an upgrade every offseason. So I am glad he has the highest of standards with that position.

Man, I really HATE to be on this side of the discussion, but the only thing that would hurt purdy if he was on the Rams is his lack of experience…and maybe his 7th round arm.

That is to say purdy is a smart, technically sound QB. Tough too. Think of him in 5 years, though. He hasn’t been around long enough, seen enough, to be able to possess the acumen and grit that Stafford has.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not rooting for SOB. I hope he gets broken into little pieces the next time we play them. All I’m saying is it takes time (and pain) to get where Stafford is now—if they ever get there at all.

…but if he was under McVay for a couple seasons, who knows?
Once again, I do not want to see that.

The Niners did incredibly well (with a very weak schedule) last season amid a ton of injuries that would have put most teams in last place in the division. Not sure how they did it (last place schedule?).
That said, the quoted statistic should absolutely be a fireable offense for Lynch.
I hope they give him an extension and a raise.

He's a studious kid. But I don't think he's got the balls to have his eyes downfield enough for McVay. And his arm is iffy. You gotta be able to live on that intermediate range to QB for our coach.

Difference in Shanny vs McVay is the latter has some Coryell in him with his love for stretching it vertically. Also Shanny's gameplan is to run it 30x, whereas for McVay he abandons it the moment it isn't rolling. So put Purdy in this offense and I think he'd have a rough time of it.

You’re right.
Because when you get down to it, he’s still got a 7th round arm.
That just won’t cut it in this offense.
