Happens to the best of us...had a good friend in SoCal back in the 90s who was a die-hard Niner fan having grown up in NorCal. He was cool about it though where other were not always.

My favorite-not-favorite though was an old roommate who walks in on me watching a Rams pre-season game in 1991 who asks me if I'm a Ram fan and when I answer "Yes," says simply, "What's that like?"

1990 was the first year that we were 6 games below 500 since 1965 and was only under 500 twice since 1965 thru 1990

I don't count the two strike years.

In honor of Whiner week I'm glad Rams posted this highlight. Still my favorite game I've ever gone to watch in person. Bruce crying on the bench after his third touchdown (1:05 in video) was ALL Rams fans letting out the emotion of the moment, he was placed on jumbotron and the whole stadium started chanting BRUUUUUUUUUCE. I still get chills thinking of this game.

This was the game that convinced me that the Rams were for real in '99.

I don't want to be a broken record, but darn it, the Rams need to take away CMC as much as possible. They did a great job in the run game, 22 carries for 57 yards or something like that. But the 80+ yards he got coming out of the backfield hurt us. You take away Jone's security blanket and he'll have hold the ball and eat it, or throw it away, or risk throwing it into coverage,

It seems like Rat boy counts on CMC to pick up first downs on 3rd and 3. 4 or 5. And it's pitch and catch if nobody covers him out of the backfield. The Texans showed the blueprint to shut him down. Even an extra second or so, give the pass rush time to get home.

Spot on. I just don't get it sometimes. CMC is often unguarded out of the backfield as if the defense thinks he won't catch the ball when that is the play call. It happens all too often when the Rams play the whiners.. Last game they bottled up his rushing, but he torched the Rams out of the backfield or on wheel routes.

Yeah, taking away CMC means some other players will be one on one but CMC is their bread and butter and the QB's security blanket.

The Texans knew how to defend CMC because their head coach was the DC for the whiners at one time. The Rams need to pay attention to the film. You take away CMC and Bourne and Jones will likely have to hold the ball and get sacked more often.
CMC in space is a serious problem. Put Dolac on his ass.

I expect us to win this game .

But 45 years of watching football tells me if I had one wish in this game the wise wish is no Ram player get injured.

This Ram team is good enough to hoist the Lombardi. Even if the path includes all road playoff games.

Looking at the schedule, there is zero chance we miss the playoffs — unless key players get injured.

I don't have to register to read their comments. I read other teams comments before we have a game with them to get a feel for what their team is about. I especially like to read the 49er board after they lose. One week its the delusional "We're unbeatable!" To the sky is falling the next week. They crack me up. They also have a Giants thread. The Dodgers winning put them in a real depressed mood knowing they can't compete with us. :laugh3:

Did Rat Boy and Lynch screw themselves again? They blew 3 1st rounders on Trey Lance, who at best, is a backup or 3rd stringer. Then they got Garappolo who now plays for the Rams. Then they sort of "got lucky" finding Purdy. Then they paid him 50+ million per year and he's injured again and Mac Jones looks better than Purdy. But Mac Jones will likely be a starter elsewhere next season unless the whiners want to eat Purdy's contract and try to ship him off somewhere else and keep Jones which is highly unlikely anyone will want his injury prone career with a big price tag. Things are looking good for the Rams as long as Stafford stays healthy and the Falcons keep losing. :)

I think they're stupid for paying any QB. Ratboy provides such a strong run game balance for his QBs that it feels like almost anyone can do the job in that offense. But yes it would be funny as hell if they get stupid to keep Jones and end up with even more money tied up in mediocre MFers.

I think you are right. A lot of QBs can win with Shanny's offense. Why over pay someone like Purdy when plenty of QBs will get you the same ?

Some whiner fans think they should trade Purdy. Problem with that is the dead cap hit. Cap savings won't be higher than the dead cap until 2028 according to OTC.

Jones made a huge mistake signing a two year deal. He woulda cashed in nicely had it been a one year deal. The 49ers got lucky again with a low paid quarterback who can win enough games to give them a winning season. But this time the other quarterback is gonna eat up their cap money over the next few years.

Bosa and Trent Williams will combine for a cap hit of 80 million next year. The 49ers are older and more injury prone now as it is. I really don't see them putting an all pro cast around whoever is quarterback like they had a couple years ago. They won't have the cap space to sign significant free agents. My guess is they will try to get younger through the draft. That is always a crapshoot.

In my opinion the Superbowl window closed last year. The only reason the playoff window is open this year is because of their weak schedule. Their next 4 opponents have a combined record of 11-27. Its possible they get to 10 wins with that alone. But they'll likely be a quick exit in the playoffs if they get there.

Not to mention they have a lot of money invested in Warner and some others. I think Jennings is likely gone after next season (I could be wrong) and Aiyuk didn't look like the same receiver after he got paid and then got injured.

You're correct. If Jones had signed a 1 year deal, he would have gotten big money elsewhere next season. I mentioned on another post that Rat boy is sort of screwed again because they paid Purdy big money and he's been injured seemingly half of his career. Purdy excelled with a stacked roster but he's average without a loaded offense. (Thank the Lord that rat boy didn't get Stafford).

And this comes after they blew 3 1st rounders on Trey Lance.

In the end, rat boy's offense is QB friendly so a lot of QBs could have excelled in that system and even made it to the super bowl with the previous rosters they had.

They have an easy schedule so even if they make the playoffs, they are fool's gold, IMO.

You know, the 9ers could have had darnold all this time and spent all of those picks on position players.

Like the song says:
Give any human too much rope and they’ll fuck it up.
